I'm a kindhearted, single girl living in this great big convoluted city. I must admit I am a bit of a nerd, but hopefully you think I'm a cute nerd! I am a bit shy until I get to know someone better. I am a thick curvy girl, a size 12, so if you're into skinny chicks then we are not a match. ;) I'm free-spirited soul who prefers to see the world through rose-coloured glasses, but I can also be strong and decisive when necessary. I am hardworking in my career and work keeps me busy and challenged. I love to learn and enjoy intellectual conversations with smart people. However, I also have a very random, quirky and sometimes dark sense of humour. I am totally fascinated by psychology, true crime stories and the paranormal. I have not had many significant paranormal experiences myself, unfortunately, but I love hearing stories from those who have. I simply adore indie and foreign films, especially those of the horror genre. I love cooking various ethnic cuisines, in particular Thai and Indian. I have a big beautiful dog who is a lot of fun. I love curling up to read a good book on a rainy day just as much as I love hitting the road for a spontaneous road trip on a sunny day. I love traveling and have so many countries on my bucket list that I can't wait to see. I am not in to the club/bar scene, I never have been. I am more of a pub goer, and only on rare occasion. Im a bit of a homebody. I don't serial date, I only date occasionally when I meet someone I find truly special and interesting, whom I would enjoy getting to know more. I am not in a rush to dive head first into anything too quickly; meeting casually as friends first to see if there is a connection and physical attraction/chemistry and seeing how it develops naturally is more my style. What I look for in a man is someone who is masculine and confident, a true leader who is not afraid to take charge, but who is also respectful, loving and compassionate. Someone who is ambitious with clear life goals. I'm a very girly-girl, feminine, soft and nurturing and so I am looking for my matched opposite... Someone who is educated and successful and knows his path in life. A man I respect and admire with whom I can share interesting conversations and silly, playful moments of just being. Loyalty, honesty, reliability and integrity are an absolute must, as these are traits that I strongly possess. I don't really have any preferences when it comes to height and/or body type or race, I do prefer a guy who is more mature, preferably age 42- 50. The kinds of guys I click with best are either the confident, spontaneous type, or the quiet introspective intellectual/scientific/analytical type. I do not have children, but I don't mind if you have kids, in fact I love children of all ages. One thing I should mention which may or may not be an issue for some people is that I am currently living in my parent's basement suite until December 2013. This is not because I can't afford to live on my own LOL but because I am saving for a down payment for a house.Now for some awkward, but apparently necessary elucidation. The following types of guys I do not date: Men from out of town only here on business; anyone whose intent in their profile says "Wants to date but nothing serious" or "casual dating/no commitment"; married men, including separated men; men who have never been married by age 45.I am not looking for casual hookups, FWB, one night stands or anything of that nature. All my pics are recent, within 1 year, and I expect that yours are too. I don't respond to profiles without pics. I read everyone's profile carefully and thoroughly before I contact or reply to them, I think its basic courtesy. Banana splits? Indian buffet? Pho? ... or we can do the cliche coffee thingy too, that's cool. I should say I suck at texting. I prefer talking on the phone or email and, of course, conversing face to face in person.
