Meetville. Accessibility Statement
Effective Date: January 11, 2010
Last Updated: September 1, 2026
INTRODUCTION
At Meetville, we are committed to building technology that brings people together in ways that are intuitive, inclusive, and accessible. We serve a global and diverse community — people of all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, backgrounds, abilities, and relationship goals — and we believe that the opportunity to meet someone should not depend on how you use a device.
This Accessibility Statement applies to the Meetville website at meetville.com and to our mobile and web applications (together, the "Services"), operated by Sequoia Network, Inc., a Delaware corporation, which operates the Meetville platform at meetville.com.
We demonstrate our commitment in the following ways:
Accessibility awareness across our team. Personnel involved in designing and building the Services receive guidance on accessibility practices, with the aim of ensuring they have the skills required to improve inclusivity and conformance with current standards.
Working toward global accessibility standards. We aim to conform with the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 Level AA (WCAG 2.2 AA) and the European harmonised standard EN 301 549. We do not currently claim full conformance with those standards; we describe our present status honestly in the "Conformance Status" section below.
Ongoing testing. We test the Services against current accessibility guidelines using a combination of automated tooling and manual review, and we make updates to address the issues we identify.
Feedback channels. We have established channels through which you can report accessibility barriers, and we aim to address them promptly. Those channels are set out at the end of this Statement.
We recognise that there is more work to be done. Accessibility is not a fixed state, and our Services change frequently. We commit to continuing this work so that everyone has the opportunity to connect and build meaningful relationships, free from barriers, bias, or exclusion.
MEASURES TO SUPPORT ACCESSIBILITY
We have taken, and continue to take, measures including the following:
Text alternatives. We provide text alternatives for non-text informative content, and we aim to present written information in plain language.
Screen reader compatibility. We work to ensure that the Services function with commonly used screen readers, including VoiceOver on iOS and macOS, TalkBack on Android, and NVDA and JAWS on Windows.
Multimedia alternatives. Where applicable, captions, subtitles, transcripts, audio descriptions, and alternative text accompany visual and multimedia content.
Contrast and text scaling. We aim to provide sufficient contrast for visual elements and text, and to support text scaling and zoom without loss of content or functionality.
Simple navigation. We use logical layouts with consistent headings, landmarks, and navigation patterns.
Keyboard accessibility. We work to ensure that functionality is operable by keyboard alone, without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes.
Customisable settings. We aim to increase the options available to you to personalise your experience, including support for text resizing through your device settings, display modes, and notification preferences.
Help and support in accessible formats. We provide support materials in accessible formats where warranted, and our customer care team can assist through email.
We organise this work around four principles:
- Perceivable — presenting visual and auditory information in ways that adapt to users' needs;
- Operable — ensuring the Services are navigable by keyboard and compatible with assistive technologies;
- Understandable — using clear and simple language and avoiding unnecessary complexity; and
- Robust — designing and building with the compatibility of current and future assistive technologies in mind.
CONFORMANCE STATUS
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, at three levels: A, AA, and AAA.
Meetville is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the Services do not yet fully conform to the standard. We are working to identify and remediate those areas, and we update this Statement as our status changes.
We assess conformance through a combination of self-evaluation, automated testing tooling, and manual review with assistive technologies. We have not, at the date of this Statement, obtained a third-party accessibility audit or published a formal conformance report. Where we obtain one, we will say so here and make the relevant report available on request.
This Statement is intended to reflect our accessibility status honestly, including where it falls short. It is not a representation that the Services are free of accessibility barriers.
KNOWN LIMITATIONS AND ALTERNATIVES
Despite our efforts, some limitations may exist. Below we describe known limitations and, where available, alternatives. If you encounter a barrier not listed here, please tell us — see "Feedback and Contact Information."
Pending updates in the applications. In some cases you may need to close and reopen the application, or install the latest version, for an accessibility improvement to become available to you.
Pinch-to-zoom gestures. Where multi-finger pinch gestures are difficult or impossible to perform, you can double-tap a photograph to zoom in or out by a fixed amount as an alternative.
Animations and motion. Animations can be reduced or stopped by enabling the reduced-motion setting in your operating system.
User-generated content. A substantial portion of the content on the Services — profile photographs, videos, profile text, and messages — is created by other users and is outside our direct control. We cannot guarantee that another user has provided descriptive text for a photograph, spoken clearly in a video, or written in plain language. We provide tools and prompts that encourage users to add descriptive information, and our text alternatives apply to the interface elements surrounding that content.
Third-party components. Certain functionality relies on third-party components, including payment processing, app store billing interfaces, social sign-in, and mapping. Those components are controlled by their providers, and their accessibility may differ from the rest of the Services.
Legacy areas. Some older screens and flows have not yet been brought fully in line with our current accessibility standards. These are being addressed on a rolling basis as those areas are rebuilt.
Alternative means of access. If any part of the Services is inaccessible to you, contact us at [email protected] and we will work with you to provide the information or complete the transaction through an alternative method, including by assisting you directly. This includes account management actions such as reviewing your subscription, cancelling a subscription, deleting your account, and submitting a privacy request.
COMPATIBILITY WITH BROWSERS AND ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY
The Services are designed to be compatible with recent versions of commonly used browsers and with the assistive technologies commonly paired with them, including screen readers, screen magnification, voice control, and switch access.
Accessibility depends in part on the combination of browser, operating system, and assistive technology you use, and on those products being reasonably current. Older or unsupported combinations may not work as intended. If a specific combination presents a barrier for you, please tell us — that information helps us prioritise.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Accessibility of the Services relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and assistive technologies or plugins installed on your device: HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS, and JavaScript, together with the native accessibility frameworks of the iOS and Android platforms.
ASSESSMENT AND IMPROVEMENT PROCESS
We assess the accessibility of the Services through:
- Self-evaluation conducted internally by the teams responsible for the relevant areas;
- Automated testing tooling integrated into our development process;
- Manual review using keyboard navigation and assistive technologies; and
- User feedback, which is triaged alongside our other accessibility work.
Accessibility issues reported to us are recorded, prioritised according to severity and the number of users affected, and addressed as part of our ordinary development cycle. Issues that prevent a person from completing an essential task — such as registering, communicating, managing a subscription, or deleting an account — are treated as high priority.
FEEDBACK AND CONTACT INFORMATION
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the Services. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please tell us. Reports from users are one of the most useful inputs we have.
Email: [email protected]
Suggested subject line: "Accessibility."
To help us investigate, please include where you can:
- The page, screen, or feature where you encountered the barrier;
- What you were trying to do;
- The device, operating system, browser, and any assistive technology you were using; and
- Your preferred method and format for our reply.
Response time. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within ten (10) business days and to provide a substantive response, including our assessment and any planned remediation, within thirty (30) days. Where an issue cannot be resolved within that period, we will tell you what we are doing and when we expect it to be addressed.
Alternative assistance. If a barrier prevents you from completing something on the Services, tell us what you were trying to do and we will help you complete it by another means.
