It's tough to sum yourself up in a few sentences... one of the drawbacks of this online profile approach, I suppose. I'm a pretty laid-back guy, conservative appearance but pretty liberal attitudes. Warm conversations about the nature of reality with friends are a lot more enjoyable to me than debates about politics, religion... well, debates about anything, really!My loves include almost any music -- although I might have to draw the line at polka or opera ;***but I especially dig gospel music (the rafter-shakin', get-it-on-DOWN variety); I'm insanely addicted to playing the piano (and B-3); and I can't talk about my greatest loves without including my unbelievably awesome friends and family. I'm also pretty dang fond of laughing, dining, staying fit, and trying to find little ways to leave a positive mark on the world. I'm pretty sensitive, sort of a weird mix of extroverted and introverted, and believe that humility and respect make up the foundation of every successful relationship (and even day-to-day passing interactions, for that matter). And I don't believe any human being does anything perfectly. I see the world as being in far too short a supply of kindness and understanding, and that our society in particular suffers from self-absorption and too much emphasis on comfort (and I only wish I weren't talking about myself in that observation, but I'm workin' on it).I'm just looking for a guy who has no idea how great he is, doesn't realize how attractive he is, has a great sense of humor, enjoys talking about things that really matter, and for the most part is open and honest. Sensitive and caring are also pretty cool (they're actually intensely attractive qualities to me).So if I sound like someone you'd like to get to know better, please feel free to say hey. Hi there.I'm really not sure how people would describe me, and for the most part I am OK with that. I have always been known as a creative guy, silly, compassionate, and a lover of living things - did I mention silly? I like animals - even the ones I'm scared of. I love people - they are my species. I try to live a genuine life and therefore often do not fit into the typical Gay molds. I am not a scene guy and got the bar scene out of my system in my twenties. Somehow I now find myself in my 40s and baffled how that happened--when did that happen? I am lucky because my hobby is also my job. I've worked hard to make my passion that much of my life. With that being said, I am very engrossed into my work. This is one of the reasons I must stop and look for companionship. My work is mostly rewarding when I can share it on a deep level with someone I love.I love entrepreneurs (I've owned several businesses) and I think that kind of spirit is exciting and I approach many situations in life with those ideals. I am not religious, but would most closely identify myself as "paganish." I am on a quest for life-long learning. I want, very much, to travel and experience theatre in many countries.My taste in music is strange at best. I like a lot of music - I've never really understood country music and I don't care for the cross over artists. Music, however, is not a passion and I easily gloss over it.Oh, and I am currently dieting, not only did 40years of age creep up on me, so did the weight. So, I am working on becoming happier with my body - and healthier. I could use some help on this journey too. I have been vegetarian for almost a year now, but lack the social life for physical activity (prefer social activities to just working out). I like walking/hiking, riding bikes, Frisbee- these sorts of things. I'm not really sporty, but willing to try and support if nothing else.I don't think I have to like and do everything my partner does. Actually I think we should have some different interests and some the same, and always looking for new/more....and here is something else - if you are a hunter or a killer of things - we don't match. Pretty casual really-- a meal and conversation- a movie or better yet a play- dessert and more conversation- compassionate hug to end the night with respect - and hopefully a new friend found.- Communication is a must.(I don't sleep around and don't participate in casual sex - I don't understand it)

If there’s one thing I’ve noticed about these sites is that there aren’t all that many LI guys on them, especially close to my age. I suppose I could try one of those “apps” but, from what I’ve seen, they appear to be a virtual gay brothel, which is not something that interests me.I’ve been told that I’m a good guy, honest, down to earth and, easy to talk to. I try to keep an open mind and, unlike most people, I will typically respond back to you if you write to me, I try not to be rude about that. My personality can range from lighthearted and jovial to serious, as circumstances dictate. Despite the tone of this profile, you’ll have to take my word for it that I have a sense of humor; you’ll just have to hang out with me a few times to see it. ;) With that in mind, a sense of humor is a MUST in my book.My taste in music is pretty much all over the place and typically ranges from '80's music to Dance and Electronic.
