Bit of a night-owl and a bookworm, I love animals, movies, music, good food, long walks, and just learning and exploring life. Of late, I'm finishing up a book I wrote, and I just started up a small-press publishing company. I know it's almost cliché to say, but I'm genuinely laid-back, honest, and good-hearted. I live by a moral code and want to leave the world a better place than I found it. For the most part, I prefer to surround myself with people who share similar values.I'm looking for a deeper connection with someone for whom there's chemistry, who shares similar ideals, like peace, love, respect, patience, compassion and good humor. This someone can tolerate my circus of animals (four cats and two dogs), is affectionate and genuinely kind. He's not averse to healthy-living, physically, emotionally and spiritually, which I think are important to maintaining a happy and balanced life. None of us is perfect, but I like the idea of being open to growth and new ideas. By the same token, I think certain traditional concepts are timeless and of great value. A first date has to involve getting to know each other, which should be a fun thing, with food perhaps, and in an upbeat setting to help offset the normal nerves that people have when first meeting. Prospective partners aught to meet as friends without expectations, and see if there's chemistry and commonality.

    Hi there.I'm really not sure how people would describe me, and for the most part I am OK with that. I have always been known as a creative guy, silly, compassionate, and a lover of living things - did I mention silly? I like animals - even the ones I'm scared of. I love people - they are my species. I try to live a genuine life and therefore often do not fit into the typical Gay molds. I am not a scene guy and got the bar scene out of my system in my twenties. Somehow I now find myself in my 40s and baffled how that happened--when did that happen? I am lucky because my hobby is also my job. I've worked hard to make my passion that much of my life. With that being said, I am very engrossed into my work. This is one of the reasons I must stop and look for companionship. My work is mostly rewarding when I can share it on a deep level with someone I love.I love entrepreneurs (I've owned several businesses) and I think that kind of spirit is exciting and I approach many situations in life with those ideals. I am not religious, but would most closely identify myself as "paganish." I am on a quest for life-long learning. I want, very much, to travel and experience theatre in many countries.My taste in music is strange at best. I like a lot of music - I've never really understood country music and I don't care for the cross over artists. Music, however, is not a passion and I easily gloss over it.Oh, and I am currently dieting, not only did 40years of age creep up on me, so did the weight. So, I am working on becoming happier with my body - and healthier. I could use some help on this journey too. I have been vegetarian for almost a year now, but lack the social life for physical activity (prefer social activities to just working out). I like walking/hiking, riding bikes, Frisbee- these sorts of things. I'm not really sporty, but willing to try and support if nothing else.I don't think I have to like and do everything my partner does. Actually I think we should have some different interests and some the same, and always looking for new/more....and here is something else - if you are a hunter or a killer of things - we don't match. Pretty casual really-- a meal and conversation- a movie or better yet a play- dessert and more conversation- compassionate hug to end the night with respect - and hopefully a new friend found.- Communication is a must.(I don't sleep around and don't participate in casual sex - I don't understand it)
