I am a hardworking, self-sufficient woman. I was a single mother for years. I could not figure out how to date and be a good parent simultaneously. So, decided to focus on being a mom first...especially since I only had one shot at being a parent. I always figured I would have time for myself later. Well, suddenly I find that time has come! The one problem...I have been out of the dating scene for so long, I'm not sure how to go about dating now! Things have changed in the past 10 years and I have gotten older. That said, I'm not getting any younger or hotter! LOL! So, if you are not looking for a relationship, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY WITHIN! Marriage is not a necessity...but I would not rule it out completely. Maybe one day I'd be willing to go there again. But really I'm just looking for a partner in crime. Someone to have fun with and go on adventures with. There are no set requirements for first date. Meeting for a drink or to have coffee is fine. A long walk (accompanied by my dog of course) at a park or cemetery (and no I don't mean a dark, scarey, weird place). Dinners seem to me a bit too much for a first date. If the chemistry is not there, it can make for a long, uncomfortable meal! Same with movies, and movies do not afford the ability to talk and get to know one another.

Hey Guys!A true friend is someone who has touched your heart and will stay there. Someone you care for, who cares for you. Someone you can do the stupidest things around and always be forgiven. Someone you'll *** in ten years because they are in your heart and not just your mind. They have the ability to change you, even if they don't. They will be etched in your memories forever. I don't date people I meet at work or people that I work with. I believe that is not professional.....(besides, who wants to see someone every waking minute of every single day?) I'm sorry, I find that to be overwhelming. I enjoy my independence and not having to clean around the bottom of the toilet on a daily basis....(how is your aim?) I don't believe in putting out on the first date....second date....third date....oh wait....we aren't dating, remember??? I guess when I feel like there is a connection there and I wish to build on that friendship and the feeling is mutual....I will go with the flow ;) I am not seeking a fwb either...if that's your pleasure, keep on keeping on my friend, There are plenty of fish in the sea ;PUpdate....okay, so previously I was a non-smoker.....then I was an occasional smoker.....then I was a non-smoker....I have to say....I just am not very good at being a quitter! In all honesty, I fully quit smoking for well over a year....stress and lack of support overcame me and cigarettes became my crutch again, although I am not a heavy smoker and maybe smoke a pack a week....some days I don't smoke at all. It all just depends on what's going on.

My friends would say they could call me at anytime for any reason and I'd be there. I'm genuinely a kind and caring person. If I say, "progressive feminist with a penchant for healthy eating" and you don't immediately think of a butch third baseman on an over 40 women's league, we could probably have drinks.I'm not going to tell you that I like sports and that I'm totally cool spending hours watching them because that would be disingenous. I do bike, ski, hike, and run, and probably could kick some serious ass playing dodgeball, but I'm going to be honest, I suck at laser tag. Apparently, my desire to eat clean doesn't appeal to their middle school sensibilities. That said, when they are in college, the FIRST thing they will miss is their mother's cooking. Plural. As in twins. I'm very efficient. And of course they are fantastic, brilliant, thoughtful, and killer athletes, but let's keep it real, they can also be complete ***holes (I did mention that they are 12, right?). Gratefully, I have one of those jobs that when people meet me at a dinner party and find out what I do, they never leave me alone. Ultimately, I live most days in a state of gratitude, I surround myself with people who make me laugh, think or both, and I accept that my life is a work in progress. As for you, if you could be a tad smarter than me, equally as funny, and show some signs of evolution in mind, body and soul, I think we might have something worth pursuing.
