I get asked all the time why am I single since I'm apparently so pretty, smart, funny, cool, etc. Well there are many factors but mostly it's because dating sucks, especially online dating. Everyone seems to be lying about or hiding something be their looks, living situation, job status or criminal records. My son has a laundry list of health issues and spends a decent amount of time in hospitals and doctors offices. Both of my kids are older and guess what, they are genuinely good kids like their Momma. Smart too like their Momma. I'm book smart and street smart and quirky and melodramatic and neurotic and witty and seriously funny at times. I stand out no matter where I go and dance to the beat of a different drummer. I'm too old for games and general bs. I want a relationship build on a foundation of friendship so I'm looking for friends first, if something else comes of it great but if not I'm pretty sure the world will not end and I'll survive. I like most sports, watching, not participating. I don't work out and have no intentions of doing so anytime soon in spite of my cottage cheese thighs. I heard the song on the radio recently from Train, "Brusies" and it really hit home for me. We all have bruises from life, but they make us who we are today. The song says "you are not alone in how you've been, everybody loses...we all got bruises."My bruises: My love passed away unexpectedly and I'm trying to figure out life now. Yes, I am still sad and hurting but I am hopeful that one day I will meet someone to share my life with again. Usually when I am off from work I stay busy with family oriented outings - park, amusement park, water activities, movies, festivals, etc. I also enjoy little day trips when I have free time - mountains, lake, museums, or anything that involves seeing nature and God's creations. I also like going to the movies and playing games. I do love a nice quiet night at home too. That's always nice when you have someone to share that with. I am not one to play games or be dishonest....so feel free to ask anything. It may not be the answer you want to hear but it will be the truth. I have learned the hard way by losing loved ones and from life in general that life is too short for any of that. I am not gonna try and be someone I am not. We are who we are, "we all got bruises!" Something low key so you can chat and get to know one another.Warning: I'm shy at first so first meetings can be a little awkward...please bare with me until I'm comfortable with you.
