Wow! Time to update the profile! I have now been in SA for a year and at least can navigate in the north part of town! Quite an accomplishment for this directionally challenged chick!!!I am high energy, driven and a definite type A. I have slowed down some. Age???I am educated and have a professional career. My profile picture is new, and I hate the butchered hair....but people have given me a hard time for not posting a recent picture, so there it is.I strive to be open in my communications, attentive to the needs of those around me, and when I'm with someone I try to always give them my full attention. I've read lots of profiles on these dating sites and everyone seems to be honest, caring and loyal; I've yet to find one person who admits to being an ass anytime. :-) Well, I'll admit it...I can certainly have my moments of being an ass--and I think if we are really honest we can all say that :-). In fact, I can say that in my earlier years I had my moments of being quite an ass; many times I've behaved in ways I'm not proud of--haven't we all? We are all human and we make mistakes, but what we do with those mistakes is most important, I believe. What I think I can honestly say is that when I'm an ass I attempt to reflect on what made me act that way and explore those feelings and where they come from. I try to understand and embrace my dark side so that I can learn to be a better person everyday.I don't allow negativity into my life, and you won't hear me badmouthing others--especially ex partners, for I love them best. We just grew in different directions--developed different desires. I rarely watch news, listen to talk radio, or watch reality tv--waaayyy too much bad energy and I can't abide getting pleasure from other's misery or *** do my best to always live in the moment. The past is over, and the future may not come--this is my mantra. Not that I don't plan for the future; I just don't live for it......and I 'm the kind of person that would enjoy a long philosophical discussion on just what that might mean ;-) I am busy--I care for an elderly parent that lives with me and I have a daughter and her family nearby, as well as some business interests in another state--but when I make time for someone that person has my full attention, and my family respects that.I selected the option for 'wanting a relationship' but honestly I have no expectations; what comes along comes along. I'm open to most anything, really. Ft. I'm quite happy (and plenty busy) on my own and with my family, but I do miss the intimacy and will embrace it when it comes my way again. I miss sharing special moments-- I'm handy around the house and with tools, but at the same time I can drop them, put on a dress and head out to the theater. I'd rather cook than fix a toilet, but I can do both. I'd rather garden than fix your computer, but can do both. I was in higher education for 17 years and just recently quit. My career had evolved into sitting behind a computer and I had had enough--and my body had certainly had enough. I have also been a waitress, a factory line worker, a gardener and a radar repairer in the Army, so I can relate to a wide range of people. I am now looking forward to becoming the active, outdoor person I used to be.I'm a complex, interesting person and I hope you are too. Don't really care as long as there is interesting conversation.
