He, like me, knows good communication is vital to the success of any relationship, and conversely, lack there of, leads to its demise. Communication is HUGE for me.The trials and tribulations in his past have made him the man that he is today, as we are all the accumulative sum of all our past experiences. A complex past that he has grown from and moved forward from is ideal. After all, 'adversity is the stepping stone to greatness!'He is independent yet wants a true partner, a monogamous relationship, someone with which to multiply the joys and divide the sorrows.Me?I am a single mum born of European parents, with a full time long term technical career; my one and only child a son, is 20 and is a mature young man living on his own, but still likes to check in with Mom about the important stuff. I am goofy and fun, but I am wise, the kind of wise that comes with embracing all of my past challenges; I see many facets to one thing or one concept. I like to stay active in both body (walking my dog, time at the gym, swimming..gotta back to yoga) and mind. I LOVE to read ..nose in book frequently!! (My departed Mother read until the day she died..and was as smart as a whip!) At least one book a month.. more if they are page turners (lately its one book a week), & research anything that is of interest to me. I love the Arts but also Science.(The higher you go...the more these two intertwine) I would like to learn something every day for the rest of my life. I see the BIGGER picture..and am fully aware that I am a spirit living a physical existence to learn what I need to in this lifetime. I believe in being optimistic despite any circumstance; seeing the glass as half full or look for the 'silver lining'. Being out in nature, or being surrounded by animals (even party animals on occasion :***are passions of mine. I love to cook and taste; to combine diverse flavors by just using my nose. Creative leftovers rock! Spicy ethnic food..make it or take out are both good!I love my red wine(sangria in the summer!..or an ice cold beer.)I love my libations, but everything in moderation; I know when to say when. And you do too. :-) If the mood isnt right or if Im doing a body cleanse...weeks can pass with no 'bevie'.Music is huge for me. I love to check out a band with friends. The sound track to my life..everything from the 70's and 80's, jazz, big blues fan, top 40, Beatles and Stones are corner stones, reggae, soul, and classical (classical is where I live)... CBC R2 while concentrating or on sunday mornings with paper and coffee or driving in hectic traffic. And sometimes all I want to hear is the wind through the trees..and the birds chirping...or the waves crashing on the shore. (YES puleeZ! :-)Love to travel. Now that my son is grown and I am officially an empty nester, I am becoming a renewed travel bug. I was in Aruba recently, and I would love to plan a trip to the Mediterranean with my guy.I cannot handle cigarette smoke...so if you are a smoker (of tobacco or drugs)...we are not a match.I am a forthright child at heart ( I took an online test to see how 'young at heart' a person is..I got 16 yrs old. lol)..and wouldnt make it through my life without my sense of 'haha'. I'm a believer - I believe honesty, trust and friendship is the beginning of a perfect relationship. I have made some wrong decision in my life but I have used them as a stepping stone in my journey of life and have learned from them. I was blessed by given the opportunity to watch my grandchildren grow into beautiful smart young adults and move on in their lives. As the years pass I realize I would love to have one more chance at love. I have been single for ***years and although I am comfortable with myself I miss the conversations, the butterflies in my tummy when that special one walks into a room, dinner out, a walk in the evening to enjoy the sun set, a best friend, someone to share the memories of the day, someone to laugh over dumb mistakes and so many other things that go with being a couple.I believe exercise and healthy eating has contributed to my sound mine and good physical health. I retired as an Executive Secretary to the Barre, Vermont City Engineer and moved to Manassas, VA in February ***, to be with my daughter and family along with my dear brother who I sort of watched over until his passing in July ***. While I lived in Manassas, Virginia I enjoyed everything the DC area offers and treasured the time I spent with my family. As time moves on and everyone grows and have their own lives I realized it was time for me to move on and enjoy the things I have always wanted to do. In November 20I3 I decided to move Florida and visited Florida the first week of December and was lucky enough to find a beautiful Condo in paradise. On January 2, ***I arrived in Venice, Florida where I presently live.I served 14 years in the US Army Reserves and love my country. I love dancing, concerts, watching most sports, the sun, boating, walking on sandy beaches, riding my bicycle, conversation and my goal is to learn to play golf. I recently started playing pickleball and started bowling on a league after about 20 years. BTW: I'm sure you have a cute little dog or cat, a nice boat, pretty flowers, birds you enjoy but until I meet you (I'm not that interested) I want to see some current pictures of you.
