It's like a job interview. You can't just wait for people to come and find you because although they need someone for the role they arn't out to look for you. They are busy dealing with all the other applications. Few bother to reply to all the applicants. Most say sorry better luck next time without ever reading what you have to say. Say you have a one in one hundred chance of getting a job then statistically you must find at least fifty nos to even have a fifty fifty chance of finding a yes. I've gone way past that mark. An optimist would say they are overdue. A new year ahead and a new start. I start with a better job than I had at the start of last year. Hopefully the trend will continue and disprove the adage of what goes up must come down. I know I haven't risen high enough yet. But maybe this year will be the year I find someone amazing to catch me if it ever comes my time to fall. [u][b]Update: I am still single however I am only looking for friends and new people to talk to.[/b][/u] This seems fairly obvious to me but it seems common sense is a little lacking in this day and age. If you are looking for a potential rebound or you only want sex with no strings you needn't bother sending me a message. I am a little eccentric, a bit of a geek. Iv fallen head over heals in love, screwed up, been hurt, felt down, settled for second best, made mistakes, learnt from them, stayed single, got to know my self, learned were I want to go in life even if I'm not quite sure how I want to get there yet and most importantly how to enjoy life again. I can be very stubborn if I believe in something or someone. What people think of me very rarely comes into the equation when I consider my actions so I don't always fit in with every personality type. I'm not constrained by typical social standards. I'm the sort that will stand by my closest friends no matter what and I go out of my way and drop everything at two in the morning for people I care about if they need me. I hate to say good bye and I rarely ever say it unless I mean it. I tend to push people away if I'm hurt emotionally or physically. I almost always keep a tight rain on my emotions if I get angry or I open up or let you see me cry then you know your one of a very small minority I feel I can truly trust. Now I'm looking for what's missing, someone to share my future with, where ever it happens to take me. Someone who makes me smile. I quite enjoy a wide range of music mostly 80's power ballads but I will listen to anything once (: Iv always wanted to own my own house one day and make a bit of a difference in the world. I have a full time job during the week (not the best job in the world but better than no job at all whitest I look for something better) I used to do volunteer work at the weekends tutoring IT now I'm sat at a desk as an administrator. Hopefully I'm heading in the right direction (: I'm not really the going on date type to be honest, for me it's more about who I'm with than were we go or what we do, I think I would prefer something quiet and personal so we could really get a chance to chat and get to know each other. I don't like to rush things these days, some times it can be fun to go off on a tangent and see what happens but if I'm serious then it would be something fun we both enjoy and make the day of it, sit out side on a bench and have lunch and just chat for a few hours. I'm not really sure what to write here. I've been single for a while now. I've had a few ups and downs in my life so I haven't really settled down like so many of the people my age seem to have done. I would really like to meet someone decent to share my life with. I'm intelligent but I don't consider my self a genius. I've just made mistakes and leant from them. I prefer to be logical and rational about things. On average I love with a good balance of my heart and my head. I'm fairly open once I've gotten to know someone. I make a point of being honest. I don't like to be late. If I make plans to meet up with someone then I meet up with them. I have a keen interest in almost all areas of science. Photography has become an on again off again hobby of mine over the last few years. I can come across as a bit cold or strange to some people. I'm not usually like that sometimes my head steps in to protect my heart, usually with good reason. I'm a decent person, I care about people. I stand by my friends when they need me. I often try far longer than I know I should to sort things out when (if) they go wrong. I can see things from all angles most of the time but be blind to what's in front of me staring me in the face. I notice small details others often miss. I give people a chance even when I find it difficult to trust and let people in. I have done some foolish things, they have cost me dear. I've pulled my self back up. Made my self a better person and made my life better in the process. I'm a bit of everything, the good and the bad, looking for someone to spend my life with. If you made it down this far without skipping through or running away in horror then I guess congratulations are in order. Most wouldn't you're probably the exception to the rule. Or possibly just scraping the bottom of the barrel. Anything like me probably both. The best bits are usually at the bottom. Almost always in the last place you look if you realize what you've got when you find it. (because rarely do people with any sense continue to look after they find what they're looking for***I'd quite like to hear from you if you're willing to send a message.
