I think a first date should be all about getting to know the other person. There's this really cozy coffee shop not too far from where I live that I love to hang out in because it's the perfect place to just relax and chat. If the conversation's going well and the chemistry is good-- perhaps grabbing a bite to eat and then doing a fun activity (mini golf, bowling, etc.) would be in order.
