Man. 40 years old. Zodiac sign: Sagittarius.
Looking for: woman. In age: 37-47
I try not to take myself too seriously and outside of work I’m a t-shirt and jeans kind of guy. I’m a runner (although I guess technically I’m not going fast enough to call it ‘running’...) I’ve been doing it regularly for over a year and love the way it makes me feel. I’m very much a DIY person around the house. Ever seen ‘The Money Pit’ with Tom Hanks? It’s been a little bit like that for the past few years. It’ll be great when it’s finished though ... [sigh]’d be most at home in an Irish Pub with live music. I’m a bit of a ‘beer snob’ though - and a coffee snob too (but I’I love to cook - I really enjoy discovering and attempting new recipes.’ll ever have in your life, an amazing ribeye on the grill, and I bet you'll love my chocolate chip cookies too.I love to read, and I’m fascinated by history, so those two things often go hand in hand. I read every day, even if it’s just a few pages before bed. I was raised Catholic but am not very religious in my daily life. But I am open to the idea of rekindling that with the right person.I love to travel, I like to try to take a trip at least once a year, somewhere I’ve never been. My interest in history often helps me choose where to travel. And as you can see I’ve got a dog. He’s super-energetic, outgoing, friendly, and loves to play. If we were a comedy duo, I would be the straight man and he would definitely be the comic. He’s certainly more than just a pet, so we are a package deal. And he has to like you too, but don’t worry too much about that - he (really really really) likes EVERYBODY. I can't count on him at all to be a judge of character! ;) He will be thrilled to meet you (he won't be the least bit shy), and you can expect to get that same level of passionate exuberance every time you're around him. So I'll tell you my ideal partner is really going to need to love dogs, because I can guarantee my dog is really going to love you.I know myself pretty well, and I’m an ISTJ personality. I'm a rational, responsible, organized person with a basically peaceful and quiet demeanor. If my life were made into a movie, I’ve been told that Tobey Maguire would be a great choice to play me. I don’t feel a need to be the center of attention. And if you go for the 'bad boy' thing, you won't get that with me. I think I keep myself in decent shape, I’m handy around the house and pretty good in the kitchen (all IMHO of course)!I'm looking for a woman with a kind heart who is both motivated and capable of giving as good as she gets. Someone who wants to share life and make memories together - starting out with things like trying a new restaurant (or sharing a favorite with each other), conversation over coffee, movies, theater, events, concerts, sports, hanging out at the house or out with friends - and grow closer and build a relationship from there. If we have some things in common and you value what I have to offer, then you should definitely say Hi and I hope to get to know you!

Update - My first note to someone is usually quite short. I don't want to waste a lot of your time (or mine) if you click on after seeing my photos. I'm not trying to be boring, not looking for a quick hookup, nor am I being lazy. I'm trying to be respectfully polite with your overloaded Inbox. Should you be interested, and write me back, I promise I will be much more thorough with a second note. Each summer I spend at least a long weekend at a family cabin in the mountains. There are many activities, but something that is mandatory on each trip is a 6 hour hike to elevations of ***,***feet (from 8,500ft). Chances are that if you don't seem like someone who would/could comfortably accomplish this feat, then we probably are going to be limited to "penpals". I like meeting new people, and do my best to politely socialize with any, but it is becoming critical that I have a healthy, active partner to compliment me. Please take that into consideration before contacting me. Thanks, and good luck fishing!***************************************************I enjoy meeting new people and am comfortable in most situations. I prefer honest, open communications and return the same. Loki, my furry companion (Golden Retriever), also loves meeting people and going to new places.I would describe myself as a few extra pounds looking to get back in shape. Apparently throwing people over your head is detrimental to your lower back. As I come out of recovery I'm looking to get back to regular activity, either outdoors or indoors. So the muscle base is there, it just needs to get dusted off with someone willing to show a little patience. I recently took up archery as a way to help my shoulder and get me outside more often, target practice in the back woods while Loki pretends to be a wolf.I was in cotillion growing up, so I have had a little experience with formal/ballroom dancing. But I enjoy more popular stuff, like hip-hop, club or Latin music. A tall partner isn’t a requirement, but it certainly makes things easier. It’s been awhile since I’’t need a drink to get started, so feel free to suggest a place. While loud music is fine for dancing, I prefer to get to know people in quieter atmospheres. While I have no fear of talking, I also need someone who likes to join the conversation.I am a physical communicator. Actions speak louder than words. I try not to be stingy with compliments, but I frequently show my affection through being helpful, doing good deeds, and eventually touch. I would like someone who can appreciate the things I do for them as much as what I may say to them. I was a technophile before it became cool, and my father has made sure I know my way around a toolbox for DIY projects.I like helping people and solving problems. I was a consultant for many years, but in the end I found the work to be less than spiritually satisfying. Helping corporate executives keep their stock prices up while removing jobs was not the legacy I wanted to leave behind. So I have made the conscious decision to change careers. There have been a few setbacks, but I have no doubt I am entering a field where I can work with more like-minded people who are interested in helping people get better, or at least be comfortable until it’s their time. Loki has travelled with me to many facilities to provide some fun-loving care to residents and patients. While there are many things to be passionate about, I have chosen to focus on a blending of technology and healthcare. My knowledge and political views are best suited to discussions in these areas, but I try to keep well rounded. I try to look at the news once a day, and keep up with popular culture through more modern media. Shakespeare was fun to read in high school, but Big Bang Theory speaks more to modern day problems. I enjoy TV and movies at home, with the occasional blockbuster movie at the theatre. I probably won’t do ballet, but I enjoy stand-up comedy, performances such as Blue Man Group, and plays and musical with humor. The occasional black tie event is also nice. But rather than spend lots of money out, I would like to get to know someone better while learning to cook a new dish, out with a few of their friends in a quieter venue, or at their home with a small gathering or one-on-one.I hope this gives a decent summary without being too verbose. I guess if you want to know more, feel free to ask. I am currently working evening and overnight shifts, so I apologize if I give a delayed response to daywalkers. I like getting to know people, so a first date for me is tragically one where we have some quiet time to talk. I have always been good a socializing, getting to know family and friends, and jumping in to new/novel situations, so I rarely feel the need to prove so on a first date. I want to ask questions, get to know someone, and find out if the chemistry is there.) I would also be interested in co-operative activities, such as a cooking class, or a pottery/paint class, and similar events where I get to work with my partner on something fun while also enjoying some conversation. I'm not much of an artist, but I'd be happy to send you home with a lopsided vase for the flowers. My dog is a fun companion, and while certainly not mandatory for dating, he wouldn't mind coming along to a park (dog or otherwise), a hiking trail, or similar. He is fairly well behaved, though he gets quite excited by first encounters. If you would like to join us on a therapy visit to some of the local medical facilities, I think that can be arranged as well....I think it's expired.
