People that are positive, confident, genuine, and funny are always a draw for me. On a first date I would suggest trying a new restaurant neither of us have tried to level the playing field. Comedy shows are usually a safe bet, too. If he doesn't laugh all night, it probably won't work out. Something involving drinks and good conversation is also a safe bet... unless someone ends up getting sloshed.
