Cancer · Looking for: Woman, 52–62
- Weakness. OK, so the pic is so-so. Although 'some say' I am decent looking guy I take horrible pictures and can't get the right one to save my life! I'm interested in long term rather than short term relationship and prefer to be around women of independent thought and state of mind. I truly appreciate people that are happy, whole and looking to live, love and enjoy life rather than bemoan it. Starting out as friends is fine....I'm tired of serial dating and have been 'off market' for awhile because I'm tired of investing in people with drama and waaay too much baggage. I tend to leave relationships that are over in the past, where they belong, not relive them in ensuing situations. I've seen way to many people base how they behave in current relationships on how they were treated by others in the past. It was always a waste of time and I feel sorry for people that can only keep reacting to the past, not to whom they're with today. I'm definitely not out to play a numbers game and see how many women I can date. I'm a good guy or so women I've dated tell me. I'm definitely not an average Joe and have a wicked sense of humor and enjoy making people laugh and have fun together. Although my humorous side doesn't really come out until I'm comfortable with others. I'm not an angry person or have undercurrents of dissatisfaction running through my life and mind as I see in other guys. And reading these ads by women, it seems honesty is a big issue for other men while I take great pleasure in the simplicity honesty with myself and others brings to my life. I do feel strongly that when I'm in a committed relationship, no one else is involved and energy is focused on us, not out seeking surreptitious situations with other women. Nor am I a small- Not out looking for my long lost mother or one for creating drama - I maintain a drama free zone in my home. I am really very easy going and philosophical about life in general and relationships as well as gentle and masculine at the same time. Even when faced with dilemma, I find humor and reasons to smile. The other option is untenable, really. I really do believe that when two people come together, it's really about being there for the other person and making life better, enjoyable, fun and interesting together and in those situations, I tend to be emotionally generous and think of the pother person's needs and happiness before my own even though I'm a bit hawkish about people that bring strife and conflict into my life unnecessarily. In a world where it seems that people are focused on me, me, me, I tend to look more at how I fit with another and look to their needs rather than just mine.Others describe me in terms I don't necessarily agree with: intellectual and smart about life, bookish and thinking in overly complex ways (OK, they got me on that one). I also know I'm more intuitively intelligent rather than intellectual but no one listens to me! I'm also a bit contrarian, socially and politically aware and until recently I could usually discuss politics with people opposite my leanings (independent, liberal minded) but with politics what it is today, I demur. I am a self-made man, I worked my way up from poverty, against many odds to earn college degrees (3 computer science) and become a senior manager in IT companies. I'm proud of it but I'm not saying it to impress. I also have my own company but I haven't quite connected with the right folks (you know, the ones that want to spend money on me). Of late, I've been working more at the strategic technology area of companies and the Fed. You could say I'm a Zen man.456.7. I seek peace and serenity in my life an shun things contrary to that. I am a calm, laid back and mellow but energetic and believe in constantly achieving goals in life. VERY laid back at home but VERY type A professionally. I've always taken the alternative in life; if there's a well worn path, I'm usually off somewhere else looking for the path few take or blazing my own trail. There are some things ill-defined in who I seek. I'm not into 'types' of women but like all men, appreciate attractive women.-minded women who've not led a sheltered life. I'm definitely NOT your average guy and love to be with women who seek not the normal, kinda boring, Mr. Average. I'm especially appreciative of people that take good care of themselves and are smart, sexy and appreciate sensuality. That said, I never seek perfection or the ultra fit; we all have our faults, inconsistencies and things we wish were different about ourselves and I have a few extra pounds myself but I'm still in pretty good shape and exercise regularly. I am not perfect and I don't seek perfection in others. I don't really look for someone like me; I really like to meet people unlike me, the whole opposites attracting thing. I already know what I think so I'd rather hears other perspectives. Coffee, lunch, a walk
