Update Sept 2013 just completed my first 5K. Walked The Color Run. Had a blast! I actually believe the cliche that life is a journey and that we're all here to discover who we are and become the best version of ourselves. So, I've been on this journey for a little over 40 years now and you know what I've figured out? I'm pretty awesome. No, really. Pretty much I rock. Now, I'm not perfect mind you. That'd be uninteresting. And as I plan on being here for a while I still have some things to learn and work on. But all in all...yep...pretty awesome. I also believe that lives are cyclical and we tend to have themes to these cycles. The cycle I've been on most recently has been the one where your heart is broken, you pretty much doubt yourself and everything you thought you knew. You're familiar with this, right? You know the one....you start the process of recovery, get your strength back, get your swagger back, keep the parts of yourself you like, ditch the parts you don't, and just generally find peace and happiness with who and where you are in the universe? The one that takes years? Yeah. That one. So, it's been great and all, but I'm pretty done with the going this alone, individual reflection thing and I'm ready for some companionship. Now, we don't have to be on the same journey. I, for instance, am on a get healthy and feel better kick. Steadily shrinking with 40 pounds down so far thank you very much.- make that 50! Yay me.) You don't have to be on the same journey, but you do need to be supportive of me on mine. See, I'm not looking for a sidekick. I'm looking for a partner.
