I'm looking for someone who actually wants to meet ...with the option of having a relationship. I know I am no fashion plate, I could use help in that department. None of us are perfect. I know, I'm an odd assortment of opposites. I don't really care what we are doing as long as we both are having fun doing it. Playing cards, festivals, and local events. There are activities going on almost every weekend ...let's do some of them! I've traveled a lot, and am always up for a road trip.I have realistic expectations, I'm not perfect and I don't expect you to be either. I refuse to have the fun sucked out of my life and I hope you are the same. I've done the manual labor and blue collar jobs. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and actually enjoy it ...but the purpose of work is to make money so we can play in our free time. I have an interesting job that is a bit outside of the norm. The right person will be there for the good times, and have the ability to not bail during the rough times. I will not let geography be a restrictive boundary at this point in my life. My job gives me the ability to pick anywhere in a number of States to live, so relocating is a possibility.I am a single father who spent the last 18 years raising my son. I enjoyed raising him. My son is away at college and my house is recovering slowly. Optimal dating range is ***, but I will respond to those outside that range too. I'm happy with where I'm at in life. Now we just need to find each other. Secure and mature guy who nonetheless has the heart of a kid. The fact that I work with lots and lots of young adults everyday also probably keeps me in a more youthful mindset. To say I'm "well traveled" would be something of an understatement; exploration is still my chief passion. My dream job has already become a reality, so no complaints there. I can be nerdy, but people are generally surprised to find that I have athletic abilities as well. That said, jogging has never appealed to me, to be honest. If I'm running, there needs to be a good reason. :-) I'm fairly articulate and outgoing, so I meet people easily and tend to be in the heart of the discussion at social engagements. People tell me that I have a way of putting them at ease. Even my ex-girlfriends still like me :-) Though I've lived in LA for 20 years now, it's still something of a mystery to me. It's sort of a blessing and a curse to have an outside perspective of the city. Some people have a hard time figuring out how different aspects of my personality mesh (e.g., I'm a wine enthusiast and a Harley rider), but I'm not about to apologize for letting my freak flag fly. I'm open-minded and accepting and expect the same in return. This is my debut venture with online dating - it's alien. If I meet even one cool person from this source, though, that's got to count as a success, right? Anywhere we can talk, really.
