The typical dressing up and going to dinner kind of date is intimidating as hell. I think the first date should be more casual, less structured, and give both people something to do and talk about *** sitting awkwardly across the table from one another, trying to figure out how to escape, should they not hit it off. One of the best dates I have had was one where we spent an afternoon browsing through an antique mall and taking a walking tour of a city we were both unfamiliar with. It was great fun and completely without stress.
