Sounds silly that I need to get this out of the way first, but here it goes...I'm not looking for a quick hookup or someone who is less than honest about their intentions. If you're married or otherwise attached, please do not contact me. With that out of the way... I am single and looking for one person to get to know and spend some time with.... I like to do active things, disc golf, hiking, walking in the many parks in the area as well as downtown...I am not a materialistic person, I am really looking for someone who has the time to invest in a relationship. With that said.... I really do enjoy "me" time and would expect the other person to want the same. My idea of quality time is not sitting in front of the tv. Not to say that I don't like to veg on occasion, but not what I want to spend all of my time doing. I exercise at least 4 days a week and would like to find someone who is health conscious...not a health nut, but lives a balanced life style. My kids are nearly grown.... okay one grown and in college and the other is a senior in high school, going to college next year. They are both fairly independent, which is amazing to see what men they are becoming.I spent six years in the Marine Corps and enjoyed serving my country. Honesty and faithfulness is very important. Not into games. Everyone has baggage and the carry on is fine, but please no checked bags :)I enjoy the 80's rock mostly. I do enjoy going to the movies (not on a first date)... like comedies and action. Not so much into Sci Fi and definintely not horror flicks. I moved to this area 5+... GO CARDINALS!! I'm comfortable financially, and frugal to a fault sometimes. I'm not cheap, but I do love finding that one of a kind bargain. (Just ask my contractor LOL)I long for that closeness of a best friend that you can tell anything to, knowing that no matter how mad they may get at you, no one will ever hear those secrets.I am a Christian and that does mean a lot to me. I'm not perfect nor do I expect my companion to be. I've only known 2 who could walk on water, so perfection isn't something I seek. I believe that life is too short to hate anyone, even those who may deserve it by some standards. My friends would say that in a crowd, I'm shy at first, but just wait until I've warmed up! I don't drink regularly by any means, but if given the right bartender, situation and group of friends, I've been known to have a few drinks just for fun.I believe that life is precious and sacred, mine and most every one else's. I won't turn my back on a friend, ever. I keep my word and expect the same from others, always, even if the truth hurts.I love to travel, especially when it's faster and easier to fly (think tropical!) , however, I have a convertible and LOVE those road trips, with the top down, as well.At this time in my life, I'm no longer that "athletic build" I once was. However, finding someone who'd like to get back in shape together might be fun.... I do not like to work out perse` but I'm beginning to do so again. I enjoy being at home, sometimes. It's where I unwind, to just hang out and chill, watch the boys play and grow, sit by the fireplace and watch the snow fall.Big NO-NO's:You cannot smoke, not even a little. Sorry, it's something I detest.Someone who is chronically lateThose who lie (including a lie by omission)People who are just down right meanThose who "cuss like a sailor" (I especially hate the "f" bomb) I love taking drives, especially long ones, with the top down of course, :) in my Little Blue VW .... So, out to dinner, some drive to a beach, or down by the river, and sit and talk would be fine, maybe a picnic lunch... I'd like the ability to talk and get to know each other.!!

I like sunsets, bonfires, camping, boating (any kind... canoeing to sailing!), hiking, walks on the Lakewalk. A quiet glass of wine. Perhaps a movie. And I like many types of music, from Gregorian chant to hip hop! The only genre I really don't like is CW. I'm pretty active and am putting concerted effort into health and nutrition as I approach 50.It's really nice to have someone to appreciate and to be appreciated. Someone to smile for, to love on and cuddle with, to care for and be cared about, all that great relationship stuff. The burden really is half and the joy double when the right personalities come together. So, ultimately, that's what I'm looking to have again someday. My free time is quite valuable to me, so I like to make the most of it with family and friends, or sometimes just go off on a hike by myself or go and sit on the rocks by the lake. My personality is to be fun and spontaneous but my schedule is actually quite planned because I'm a small business owner, part-time employee, sole parent and dog owner. But I always manage to find time for fun!Yeah, about kids and dogs: I have a couple of each living at home, full time. I also have a large extended family that I like to get together with several times a year, and we're quite a diverse bunch, ethnically, racially, religiously. First dates are about getting to know one another, so someplace where conversation is possible, like a restaurant or coffee shop would be nice. If the weather is nice, perhaps a walk on the Lakewalk?
