Here's the thing: I don't do awkward.; a gala ball where I was publicly accused of being a communist by a music producer; a dinner with my date's parents; a three-day offshore sail with my co-workers; a walk to a clearing in the woods during the Leonid meteor showers;;; a beer at the dive bar down the street from my school. I don't want to be impressed--I want my date to feel comfortable, because only then can we truly get to know each other. And the guy I spent 7.5 years with? He took me to a dive bar for a beer after class.
