I am an animal lover, and recently adopted a pretty little parakeet from a shelter. No grandchildren but I do have a few grand-animals! I love to learn new things ~ fencing, archery, cross country skiing, sang karaoke once (badly, but I did sing :) Somewhat cerebral, I enjoy writing poetry, a good read, and being absorbed in new creative projects. I would love to get to a hockey game, and am looking forward to snow shoeing with someone this winter..you perhaps?..I am not looking for perfect, just perfect for me, and while there does need to be an attraction, these days I prefer men with integrity, someone reliable and kind who has his priorities in order. Not searching for a man to take care of me, own me, or control me; I am quite independent, thank you very much, but I really would love to meet an intelligent, secure, emotionally stable man who is not afraid to be playful and let his smile light up my world; a true partner, companion, a friend with passion who really gets me.Are you a man who uses words truthfully, and would enjoy the company of a nice lady? Ahhh....here goes the part I hate so much. I am just an ordinary women looking for happiness. I know it's out there somewhere. My life has thrown me some curves...but here I am, not willing to give up. I have a good life....but it would so much better to have someone to share it with. I will never turn down a glass of white wine. I don't tend to watch much TV but there are certain programs I don't like to miss. I am an early morning person and feel its the best part of the day. The first coffee of the day is always the best (although coffee anytime is good). I read a lot. I like to walk the bush anytime of year. I find time spent, one on one with Mother Nature very cleansing. I spend as much time as possible enjoying the cottage sunrises and sunsets. I do prefer being barefoot to wearing shoes. I can dress up but prefer to be casual and comfortable. I love to laugh and can be sarcastic. I listen to music in my car loud and I sing with it loud too (not very well either). I do take the saying "Dance like nobody's watching" to heart and I do. I am very very loyal to my family and friends. I like pretty much all genres of music, including a little bit of rap now and again (thanks to my kids). I like to learn one new thing every day (big or small). I do wear black rubber boots when walking the dog. The cat...well he's "the spawn of satan". And yes....here I am rambling.Never take a person for granted. Hold everyone close to your heart, because you might wake up one day and realize that you've lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones.Message me......if you like what you have read. I believe in messaging back. Oh so casual. First dates are so awkward to begin with...why make it worse. Perhaps a walk. A coffee or drink.....nothing very long.
