Getting back on my feet and getting my life back together after a failed marriage. Things are civil between myself and the ex for the sake of our child. Getting re-acquainted with living alone. It has it's advantages to be sure, but I miss the companionship.I work with my family, running a small sales & I'm the resident computer guy / quality guy / warehouse manager / whatever other hat needs wearing guy. Working with family is without a doubt the most frustrating and rewarding way to work. I have a 10 yr old daughter who's incredibly awesome, and obviously part of the package should things get serious. Split custody & residence, so she's with me half the time. I have my free weekends though, so there's plenty of time for meeting & greetingSpeaking of serious, POF's wording doesn't exactly match the option selected from the list under the "Intent" field. Casual Dating somehow translates to "isn't seeking any kind of relationship", so I changed it to "I want a relationship" To clarify, I am looking for someone, I'm just not going to rush into the first potential relationship to come along. That said, I'm not looking for serial dating either. I want to meet new people, and make new friends, with no expectations. If / when the right woman comes along, we'll both know.I enjoy a wide array of activities from strolling museums to biking wooded trails to rocking out at concerts. I'm a new convert to the gym, starting this past Jan. Never thought I'd get as hooked as I have, but feeling better than you have in years will do that for you. I'd like to get my ski-legs back as well. It's been many years since I've enjoyed that, and I really want to get my daughter started. I'm always up for pick-up games...volleyball, basketball, softball, whatever. Looking to meet someone to share these activities with.I love art, but I'm not much of an artist myself. I tend to be more logical / rational / scientific about things. I try to balance the dryness with a sarcastic sense of humor. My humor can run dark at times, and I credit that to the absurdity of our world. Sometimes you just can't help but laugh at what life throws at you, and laughter always makes it easier to deal with.Musically, I love almost all styles, but I'm a rocker at heart. From 50's doo-wop, to 60's psychedelic, to 70's classic, to 80's metal, to 90's grunge, I like it all. It's not all crunchy guitars though. All styles of music have their time and place, even classical. My current go-to radio stations are 98.3 The Shark. Thanks to my daughters influence, you might also catch me listening to WBLI. About the only music I can't wrap my head around is either super-twangy country, or hardcore thug rap. You'll almost always find me singing a song, but I've never done karaoke. Maybe you'll be the one to convince me...Socially, I'm very liberal and open about most issues. Live and let live! Have to keep an open mind, and I'm always up for debate. If you really want to catch my attention, challenge me, make me think of an issue in a way I haven't before. I'm more conservative financially, and I can be a bit old fashioned when it comes to dating and romance. I'm fine with a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, a mixed drink, maybe some light eats. How about a walk down at the beach with an ice cream? Casual and comfortable for conversation is best. Someplace where it's easy to talk and get to know one another.

Hello, I am Retired from the US Navy after 21 years. Last Summer I did one of those once in a life time chances to just do something that is CRAZY and I went for it. Plus, I did this on my motorcycle by myself. Sound a little crazy? Well I thought it was too, but I had to take the chance and I took it, it was one Awesome Adventure that lasted an extra month to stay for the State Fair and the Balloon Fiesta. I have written of my aspirations and my one dream that I made into reality, what do I write next about myself? Well I take care of myself as much as I can, with what I have left over from the Navy lol. The Navy did a douzy on me during the 2 plus decades I served with them and they have left me with some serious scars, but I work around them. Don't worry, I walk and talk and function appropriately lol, but I do have a slow gait with a slight limp, but everything else works mostly correct too lol. As you can see by one of my photos that I stay in shape, it was taken this last february, but I do smoke on occasion, a couple a day, but have been trying to quit forever. It would be nice to have someone that is taking care of themselves too, so we can motivate each other to stay fit for as long as possible. How about my personality? I'm a jokester/sarcastic on occasion but I don't do it at anyone's expense, it's only funny if everyone laughs. Life is fun, so I try to make it as much fun as possible, but it's serious too, so you have to take that into consideration. My life is as Drama free as I can get it, everyone has there own, and it's always good if you can handle your own drama, but a little help every now and again doesn't hurt either but only when help is asked and not thrown at you. I Love helping out others no matter who they are, but hate being taken advantage of, it's in my giving nature, so I give anyways even after I've been burned. So if by chance this peaks your interest, drop me a message and we can see where it goes from there. Hope you have a great day either way. Mike Wow, first date? It really determines on the person to tell you the truth. If the person is shy and/or hesitaint, I would say something like Starbucks in the late afternoon with the evening clear for dinner, so it leaves the door open for the other person and doesn't pressure anyone. If I feel confident in the person and we both have a day off during the summer, it would have to look warm and sunny. Then I would have to say a ride on my KLR***Over- I know a little old fashion, but I feel I have a bit of the old fashion gentlemen bug in me. First dates to me really have to be tailored to the person you are dating, there is no real all around first date that is perfect for everyone. To me a ride on my bike and a picnic lunch by a lake would be awesome, but what do you do if it's winter? You will have to come up with something else lol. I know this probably confused you more then it helped but just maybe I got through to that right person on what I am trying to express here. Have a great one, I will try on my end.
