Every day I wake up thrilled that people pay me to do what I love. Teaching fits really well with my easygoing attitude and gives me the flexibility to enjoy my hobbies outside of work. I love the sense of adventure that travel brings and I’m always willing to try new things.I can be kind of a dork at times...I love Jeopardy, Trivial Pursuit and other board games, and visiting museums and historical sites (think I could find a couple around here?) Having lived through the Saints' Superbowl season in NOLA, I have become a football fan although I must admit, I'm still trying to figure out the game! We meet for brunch (great excuse to have a drink before noon) and then spend some time exploring one of DC's museums, historical sites or parks. Or maybe we just go to IKEA -- seriously, if you can assemble some particle board Swedish furniture using only pictures without killing each other, it's a good sign.

I love to read, play board games (if I have ppl to play with!), MUSIC is a big part of who I am...I like many different types: jazz, bluegrass, rock, reggae, metal, 80's! I am having a hard time meeting people here. Most people are too young, too "old", married, or have 50 babies or cannot hold a conversation. No offense! I have a teenage son who doesn't not live with me at the moment. I am separated, my husband is not living in this state and we intend to divorce. Some shows I like: Parks and Recreation, Master Chef, Arrested Development. I DO NOT like those dumbass reality shows like Dancing with the Idiots or those singing shows. I'm not big on shopping. I'm kind of a hippie in spirit, I guess...a bit of a Libertarian in politics, though I'm not really into politics. I like candles that smell good :) I smoke but would like to quit. I think marijuana should be legal. I drink occasionally but usually get tired from one or two drinks, lol. My goal is to make some friends and do some fun things while I'm here :) Ask me to check out a band with you, a restaurant you'd like to try, coffee and dessert at a book store...who knows? :)

I'm fairly new to this. In the past, I have identified as straight/hetero, although I have always been attracted to women for most of my life. I have probably been attracted to women for WAY longer than I was attracted to the male gender, but I just naturally did what society expected of me cuz that was the "norm." However, the older I get, the more I want to be true to MYSELF and do what makes ME happy, regardless of what others, including loved ones and family, may think. I would "label" myself as bi- or Omni-sexual, in that I'm not "attracted" to a person based on their gender. I'm a pretty intellectual person in a lot of ways (quite contrary to my artsy ways), but that's just how I am. For me, attraction is WAY more than physical attributes, it's about how well I get on with a person in all these other facets. That takes time, unfortunately, and in a fast-paced society, everyone wants "fast relationships." I never was one for that sort of thing, even when I was exclusively dating the male gender.Primarily, I'm just looking for like-minded individuals to meet, get to know, and to take it from there. Who knows what could happen? Maybe nothing will happen, but at least now I'm being true to myself and admitting it to myself. Nothing fancy, just very casual, like going out for coffee or something like that. I'm really not hard to please. When the weather is nice, I LOVE to be outdoors, like at a park or something.
