About Me

I am honest, responsible and have a good sense of humor which tends to be on the sarcastic side. I have been divorced almost 3 years and have an 18 year old daughter that I adore. I would like to find someone to have a serious relationship with but I am in no rush to get married again. I like being treated like a lady and made to feel special. At the same time I also like having someone that I can spoil and be affectionate with. I think that's what I miss most is having that special person to love and appreciate. I grew up in a very loving household and I've always wanted that special relationship like my parents had. They stuck it out through thick and thin and showed me the perfect example of what relationship should be.I am independent but far from being a feminist. Sarcasm is a spice of life, so bring it on. I like stepping out of my comfort zone from time to time to try something different. It's good to try new things.I would love to find the one that will get me off this dating site :D I am a 4th grade dual language teacher and have been teaching for 14 years. I love my job and my students. Very stressful at times but also very rewarding. As much as I like my job I am finding that too much work and no play isn't very fun. It would be nice to find someone that I can spend my free time with either relaxing at home enjoying each other's company or going out and doing something fun. The sky's the limit!!!! Also, my daughter just graduated high school so I am finding myself with a lot of "me" time that I didn't have before. It would be nice to have sometime to spend some of that time with ;) I am good at being a friend and listener when I need to be. Once I make a friend I am very loyal and trustworthy. I am also good at learning. That might sound weird but I love learning new things. I am very educated but I'm also smart enough to know there's still alot to learn. Guess it's the teacher in me, lol. At first I do tend to be quiet and shy but after I get to know someone I am a lot of fun and like to share laughs. Usually the first physical traits that get noticed about me are my eyes and hair. My friends also love my sense of humor. My favorite book and movie of all time is Lonesome Dove. In general, I like reading historical fiction and thrillers. I love westerns , scary movies and comedies. Not too much into chick flicks except for The Notebook. Makes me cry every time I watch it, lol. My taste in music varies with my mood, I like old and new country, 80s pop and hair bands. I enjoy playing online poker and I loooove basketball!

    Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I decided to change it, once again, to reflect a bit of my humorous side. So, attempt #3. Here goes: Let's just be honest here. I could tell you that I like long walks on the beach and romantic candle lit dinners and bubble baths, but who are we all kidding? We all know that stuff rarely ever happens. You want to know what I am really like minus all of the fluff and circumstance. I throw my clothes in the bathroom floor and gather them up from there to do laundry. Yes, I do own a hamper or 4. I don't mind washing and drying and folding clothes but I detest putting them up. Don't ask me why...I have no clue. My car stays in a constant state of disarray. Having a 4 year old does that to you. I have learned to pick and choose my battles wisely. I love to cook but I am in dire need of learning to cook healthier as I mostly cook southern comfort foods. I love to bake and decorate cakes as well. I am very emotional and cry at just about any sappy TV commercial or movie there is out there. I'll definitely be the first one to laugh and cry. I have a very warped sense of humor that tends to get me into a bit of trouble at times. I also speak sarcasm fluently. If speaking this type of language offends you in any way, we would definitely not be a good match. I am very playful and fun loving and affectionate and not only want someone that is as well but NEED someone that is. I do not have a Barbie Doll type of body. I am curvy and have a nice butt. (So I keep getting told) I am currently waiting to get released from my Dr to start a new workout program. (Insanity) It would be nice to find someone that is crazy enough to do it with me and motivate me as well. I am conservative in my views so if you voted for Obama we would probably not get along that well. I do not date outside of my race. I understand that this may exclude a lot of wonderful men, however it is my preference. My friends would tell you that I am very sweet and girly, devoted, and love deeply. I would love to meet a man with similar values and interests and get to know them slowly. I want to believe in the fairy tale. I still believe that Mr. Right is still out there waiting to find me too. I believe I told someone that he has GOT to be the WORLD'S greatest Hide and Seek champion...however his seeking skills suck....every once in a while I can be heard yelling, "" just in case he is within ear shot. I believe that relationships all take work. That should never stop. I want to find a man that is happy to wake up next to me every morning with a smile on his face. A man that knows how to please a woman in every way. A man that is not always looking for the next best thing or peering at other pastures to see how green the grass is in case he decides he wants to jump the fence. My theory is your grass can be just as green if you put as much time, effort and fertilizer down as the other guy did. Try it sometime. I am not a jealous person. I am working on myself....and plan on improving many things, not just physical. I am all girl. I do not like conflict and tend to be a people pleaser. Don't get me worng, I love getting my way and will do whatever I can to get it...such as bargaining, and pouting! I have a 4 year old daughter that is the love of my life. I want to find a man that would love her as if he were his own. I am not looking for a daddy for her as she already has one....but I am looking for someone that would step up to that role because he loves me and her. I am rambling at the moment and I am not sure what else I really want you to know about me. So I will just stop here....if there is anything you would like to know....ask me. I promise I won't bite...and if I do, it won't hurt. ;) A meet and greet in a public place and then discuss a first date.
