About Me

I'm looking for real connection, because I haven't experienced much of that. I want to understand you and take some responsibility for your happiness, and have you do the same. This doesn't mean we can't have some separate interests or time with other (same-sex) friends. I'm looking to include you as part of the necessary fabric of my life. To compliment, enrich and be at peace with each other. I value hugs and small thoughtful surprises. My dog is a border collie cross. I've had birds, fish and dogs in the past. I like cats, and sometimes house-sit two for a friend. My experience with children is limited as I am the youngest in my branch of the family. I think their honesty, openness and curiosity is refreshing, and that their energy level is exhausting. I tend to treat them like little people with inexperience and little emotional control who need consequences for their actions in order to learn and grow. This means positive reinforcement (praise and/or reward) for good decisions, and consequences (time out, loss of privilege or corrective action) for bad decisions. My parents made time for me which included things like games after dinner, and a vacation alone with my mom. Things I cherished, which I would try to carry forward.I am not interested in being "Friends with Benefits". If friendship develops that far, then you better be "all in". I believe that when you are that close to somebody you give a vulnerable piece of yourself away. If there is no commitment, then that piece is lost and crippling pain seeps into your life. This affects all relationships, and the ability to live life with maximum joy. If you disagree, then move on and do not contact me.Trust in God people, be honest and open with others, and especially to yourself (which can be difficult).     well time to write a new profile.... no clue what to say! Feels so bloody awkward doesn't it? Online dating - whoda thunk? Best way to meet opposite sex nowadays it seems.     I am a fun loving girl that would like to find someone to spend some of my free time with. I am very independent and don't need to spend every waking minute with that someone. I do not believe that if two people come together as a couple that the rest of their own lives should cease to exist. There needs to be a healthy balance. I started a new career in January of ***and I am loving every minute of it. I traded in my dress shoes, skirts and blouses for steel toed boots, safety vests and a hard hat. I left the financial industry in the dust and joined the world of construction and haven't regretted a minute of it. That being said I am very well rounded.
