About Me

Hello there...I believe that the best way to get to know someone is to sit with them and chat and see if you hit it off. Common interests are important, but not as important as chemistry. But anyway, I will say a little about things I like to do..I like to stay active and explore. I travelled and lived in different countries for a few years and believe that you learn the most by experiencing, and feeling the world with all your senses. I am interested in people, different languages and traditions, different ways of life.I love dancing recreationally to almost any kind of music from Latin to hip hop to Irish, to whatever. I'm not a professional or anything. I just love moving to the music.I like sports and games, but do not consider myself athletic - I am not particularly fast or exceptionally good at sports, but love to play for fun, to enjoy. I like walking, swimming, dancing, biking, etc.I am not a gym person. I can not motivate myself to exercise just for the sake of exercising. (I'd much rather dance all night, swim to a cave, do a two-day hike, climb a tree, or something). I'm not a bookworm - I read a book maybe once a year. I don't own or enjoy playing video games. I don't identify with or support any team and rarely watch a game. I don't feel the need to get drunk or high to have fun - I am high on life :P.....I love checking out new places, especially if they are outdoors. Things like Movies in the Park, Shakespeare in the Park, outdoor concerts, music festivals, food festivals, etc. I am usually up for anything, especially if I haven't tried it before.Having said all that, I am not always "active".. I do enjoy staying home and watching a movie, love playing board games and really enjoy making arts and crafts.So I am looking for someone who would love to do some or all of these things with me. And we can see how we get along. If we don't really get a long, it's ok ("plenty of fish", right?). If we are compatible, and make each other smile, fantastic :).Should we give it a shot?     People say I'm too nice which to them means they think others can walk all over me. To me, I just see it as treating people the way I want to be treated. I'm kind, caring, sarcastic at times and close with my family. I love my two dogs and have great close friends. I'm an elementary school teacher and I just want to find a nice guy. I'm honestly not a big fan of movies on the first date. It's bad enough when there's awkward silence for a few minutes, even seconds, but to sit in silence with someone you don't know for hours I find a little awkward. If you have a dog I would be fine with going to a dog park. Truthfully, first dates are nerve racking to me so as long as we both feel comfortable and can hold a conversation I'm good.
