About Me

I am a music teacher and mom. Separated for about a year. I have twin boys. Don't do very well filling these things out but I'm quite good in conversation. I lead an active lifestyle - I run and practice yoga and bellydancing. I also swim in the summer. I find physical health to be very important and try to eat clean foods as much as possible. I really love trying out new kinds of physical activities - for ***, on the agenda is Aerial Yoga, Trapeze and I've always wanted to do one of those obstacle courses. I love being creative in the kitchen and working to make whole, healthy and natural foods fun and delicious for people who are more accustomed to a processed diet. I'm thinking of studying nutrition as a new career path... But at the same time, I'm pliable. Will not think twice about grabbing a slice of pizza or an ice cream cone. I do have a small issue with the beef industry though...I'm not making myself sound fun here but I love meeting new people, trying new things, and overcoming fears. I have a weird sense of humor and find bathroom humor funny. I guess people would say I have a sarcastic edge and also can be very silly. I suppose what makes me unique is that I am very open-minded and non-judgemental. I come from a family of musicians and we are all very close and affectionate."'Cause I'm keepin' it real..." I have recently become very focused on what is real in my life and what is not real. I don't care about reality TV shows, celebrity gossip or pop culture. Call me a square, but I just don't care (haha, that rhymes!). I have a first-generation Droid with a severely damaged screen that I must frequently restart because I don't give a crap about the latest gadgets that are filled with ways to distract me from reality. If you are the type of person who is really into "stuff" and ***, we won't get along. Now I really sound fun, huh? I'm actually a total hypocrite - I'm constantly quoting 80s movies.I hate the cold... I pretty much use it the way other people use salt and pepper.Ok, so on some other dating websites there is a category "You should message me if..." I think it's pretty pertinent, so I'm going to add one here. You Should Message Me If:1. You are NOT expecting to make out on the first date.2. You can handle mid-July NY humidity like a pro and won't complain about being hot3. You might not prefer it, but can appreciate the musical theatre genre for its artistic form and whimsical-yet-sarcastic social commentary.4. You don't associate non-sexual physical affection with neediness.5. You are willing to put up with my tirades about the Secret Government's evil plot to control the world, which it already does.6. You are willing to put up with my tirades about the evils of the USA's food industry and health.7. You don't think I'm a loon for wanting to drop out of society and live in a small, self-sustaining, primitive, yet joyful, village filled with kind natives who make everything out of bamboo. They will have nightly bonfires with accompanying festivities. I don't like high-pressure situations. Let's meet for coffee or a beer/glass of wine in a relaxed and quiet atmosphere where we can actually hear each other speak. Maybe go for a walk. During the day is just as good as an evening. I'm pretty easy-going.

I'm still a little freaked out about the idea of online dating but I realize dating in general is difficult for me. I have been in a few long term relationships with people who were friends first but never had to try being set up on blind dates or the whole bar thing. Between work and spending time with my kids, I haven't had a lot of opportunity to meet new people so I'm going to try to stick this out a little bit longer. I have a great job as a manager but it is usually pretty demanding and to do the job well, I need to put in extra hours. The flexibility and loving what I do makes the extra stress worth it. I also have a part time job which I don't find stressful but I would describe as pretty mentally draining. Being a Social Worker with a forensic/psychiatric focus leads to a constant focus on boundaries and keeping a professional only relationship with people (which is another reason the whole online thing freaks me out - I've already seen coworkers, I'm afraid to see former clients). I feel that one of my strengths at work is that I am able to enjoy helping people who can be viewed by many as not deserving of help. So it's nice to have someone to vent to and be totally myself with outside of work. It's also nice to have someone to tell me to stop my whining and get over it when I'm overthinking things. I enjoy a sarcastic remark to make laugh at myself. I am a caretaker in so many areas of my life and think I do a decent job at managing all the chaos but I do realize that I need to exercise regularly and force myself to have a social life when I'm not with my kids so I can keep a level head and stay positive. I play on a volleyball team once a week now and I've been reconnecting with old friends I've seen less and less of over the years. I love day trips with the kids or with friends -;festival" that involves hanging out outside with some live music and food and I enjoy spending time with my extended family. I love to cook but will complain about cleaning so I admire a man with a little bit of OCD and the energy to work on projects around the house. I am really looking for someone who I love hanging out with and is accepting of everything that comes with kids and a busy schedule.

I recently relocated from LA this summer. Although, Im enjoying the change, i do miss my beach and surf. I am an adventurous and free spirited lady who loves my family and friends dearly. I would do anything for them. Absolutely am silly and love straight up goofiness at its best. Not the kind that is at the expense of others. you have to be able to laugh at yourself. Although, silly, great depth and a love for solid intellect is very important to me. I studied criminal psych in college and am now in the beauty/entertainment industry and have loved the journey God has taken me on. Although working in fashion for years has been inspiring, it is def not everything. But a well dressed man is icing on the cake and bonus is one who can get down and dirty to! think duck dynasty..lolAcademics was a huge focus growing up and that has never left me. I am an realist and an idealist at heart and tend to see the best in people, a fault at times but in the end i'm grateful for my perspective. I am a curious las and Music is important in my life. I love it and there absolutely should be a soundtrack to my life. If you appreciate that film, then you have a great eye :) I grew up in a loving home in a smaller town and rode horses and love the country! I love the city and country. Both have my heart in different ways. Travel is very important and diving into the culture that I am in is a great adventure to me. A strong spiritual life is important to me. Not new age but faith based. Im a Christian and Love Jesus. Im def not living the perfect life but to ride the up and down journey of the faith journey is an adventure. Im a lover and am affectionate. Chemistry is important to me, just as much as a friendship is. I up for something as adventurous as rafting or just a simple tea/coffee with a nice walk is great too. As long as it is great conversation and laughter.
