About Me

I'm a 50-year-old professional woman with a demanding job and a creative edge, driven by energy that mostly gets released at the gym. I love music of all sorts -- especially alt rock; play guitar and sing; avidly read and write (in fact, I'm currently commissioned to write a book), and very much involved with my family. I have two grown children and a teen-aged son who lives with me. He keeps me young. He's a great young man.I'm into whole foods and deeply committed to fitness. I love the movie theater but I don't watch a lot of TV (though I have a few favorite shows). I love theater, dancing, concerts, the beach .... I love my job as a magazine and newspaper managing editor, as well as a number of freelance gigs I juggle for fun and to grow. In fact, at this point in my life I am largely about personal growth. You know -- halfway to a hundred and taking stock of things. Isn't the first date awkward? That's why I would like ours to be actually doing something besides sitting looking at one another over dinner and beverages. Let's go out and play. The possibilities are endless. I think people learn more about each other while engaged in reality than they do in a few strained hours.

I enjoy hiking with my dog, and sometimes I even bring my horse along too (she needs exercise too!). I'm definitely a daddy's girl just not the kind that likes to be spoiled, but the kind who has a special bond over horses with him. He taught me to be tough, stand up for myself, and to never give up on my dreams. If you work hard, you'll get where you want to be in life.     Thanks for taking the time to read this. I think I had an easier time writing my work resume. I work some pretty crazy hours and days/nights so if you're a patient guy, please read on. If not, thanks for stopping by. I enjoy all kinds of music and an occasional play; like to go to festivals and movies. I don't drink very often and never if I'm driving. I'm not a bad cook and like to try new recipes (wanna be my food critic?) I do the typical 'household things' like cook, clean, sew, crochet (basic square or rectangle things only), quilt, paint, and I've even carved kachina dolls. I love non-reptile pets but don't own any. Okay...I'm not fond of rodents either, but love rabbits. I've only ridden a horse a few times but find them facinating animals and like being around them. I grew up in the suburbs so I'm not very knowledgeable about farm animals, but hey! I'm flexible, I could learn. Yeeesssss.... I get my nails done, but that doesn't mean I don't hesitate to pitch in, okay, if I'm wearing gloves. I retired from the military and look forward to retiring from my current job in about 12 months.
