Hi Guys, I am a busy single mom to my very active boys ages 11 and 15. I love watching them play football, baseball and basketball and I am an active volunteer with their teams. They are with me full time and they are my life. But they are old enough now for me to be able to enjoy some guilt-free ME time.I've been single for 8 years, divorced for 4 and am new to this dating thing - especially the online dating thing. It's like feeling my way around in the dark - will you hold the flashlight for me? I don't know the "rules" if there are any, and I probably would not follow them even if I did. Update: if you have dating "rules", I can only respect them (or not) if I know what they are - that requires communication. I am a BIG fan of communication!My friends tell me I don't know when I am being flirted with. I guess it takes a brick to my head. I just don't like assuming things and then looking foolish. Plus, if one wanted to, one could read something suggestive into just about any conversation. That can be fun - as long as we're on the same page! Humiliating if not!I hate playing the guessing game just TELL ME what's on your mind. That said, I do prefer directness. It CAN be done tactfully, kindly, and with openess and honesty - a must for all my relationships.I am an open book - ask me anything and know that my answers will be completely honest. Not everyone is an open book and that's okay, as long as what you DO put out there is truthful.I can play poker with the best of them but much prefer to lay my cards on the table and think it would be a much nicer world if we all did the same.I wear my heart on my sleeve but am not naive; don't underestimate me ;) I practice living a simple, uncluttered life in the here and now. I don't care about your weight, profession, income, motorcycles, boats or cars, how many times you work out a week, or all the places you have been (although a Harley trip would be fun! lol!) I do care if you are kind, compassionate, loving, responsible, respectful, respected, emotionally well-adjusted and generally fun to be around.     Hard to know where to start after reading some of your profiles. It looks like most have 48 hour days with all they accomplish on a regular basis. My days only have 24 hours, and between being a full-time single mom to a teen-ager, and have a full-I'm pretty happy with my life - but could be better if I had someone to share it with. I enjoy a wide range activities, time permitting. A weekend in Tahoe, skiing or just enjoying the nature up there. Likewise, a day by the ocean, or a day sailing on the bay. A camping trip to Lake Berryessa and some boating is not bad, either. All things I enjoy, but admittedly it has been while since I had a chance to do it. I treasure family but unfortunately I live far away from mine so I don't get to see them often. That's why I like the saying "friends become our chosen family" and I do have my chosen family here in the area. I enjoy going out for dinner, and I enjoy cooking dinner at home, too, especially when I have someone to cook for. Or someone to share the cooking with. I also believe in a healthy life style - without being fanatic. Everything in moderation. With a little more time on my hands, I'm now back in the gym and have started with a personal trainer 2x a week. I sure feel it, but boy, does it feel great to be back!I'm looking for someone who has a job, is educated, and for the most part is happy with his life - but as me looking for someone to share it with. Great if you have children - then you understand that aspect of life, and it's ok if they live at home, as I have one living at home. I understand how it can make things a bit more complicated when it comes to time.Oh, a big must is you have to live in the area. I'm not interested in pen pals.Hope to hear from you!!!
