About Me

Me: I'm level-headed, reliable, confident and calm in a crisis. I'm funny. I'm headstrong, but not unreasonable and when I put my mind to something, I get it done. I'm fiercely loyal. I'm a sucker for dogs and cats and chest hair and soft kisses. I'm an optimist. I'm friendly. My favorite food is chocolate. I love being a Mom! My son is my biggest joy and greatest worry. Right now, I’m trying to figure out how to guide him through puberty and girls and junior high. Wish me luck! I’m organized and financially stable. I’m not meticulous about chores: there are usually dirty dishes in the sink and clean ones in the dishwasher. I am precise. I like to use the right word, which sometimes means it's a big word. I may gently correct you if you're using a word incorrectly - but I would never do that in public. I’m not rude or disrespectful. I’m fun at parties and make friends easily. I’m easy-going and independent. I’m not shallow. I’m resilient and brave. I go all warm and fuzzy inside when a gentleman holds the door for me. You: You are a gentleman. You are not confused by women. You are warm and charming and friendly and funny and smart. You manage your strength and physique in such a way, that I feel safe when I’m with you and can let my guard down. You are not sexist or racist or elitist. You may not know how to take things apart or put them together, but you’ll try. You have a full life and busy schedule, but always make time for those you love. You call your Mom. You have someone in your life (sister? ex-girlfriend? friend’s wife?) who is a trusted confidante. You give people the benefit of the doubt. You are complex and interesting. You sing along to the radio. You don’t change lanes in an intersection. You are deferential to anyone older than you. You love to cook, but pizza Friday is cool too. When you are interested, I am the only person in the room. Us: We spend time together when we can, because we both have busy lives. We like grabbing lattes and going for walks hand-in-hand and talking about anything and everything and nothing. There are silences, but they’re not awkward. We enjoy dressing up occasionally for a night on the town. I help you reach your potential and you help me reach mine. Together, we are unstoppable. We are fun and funny and don’t take ourselves too seriously. We are simpatico. First meet up - coffee or drinks. Tried, but true.First date version 1: Chips, salsa, guacamole, margaritas - and lots of talking.First date version 2: Steak dinner followed by a long walk - and lots of talking.First date version 3: Some food truck yumminess while sitting on a bench looking at the Puget Sound - and lots of talking.First date version 4: Happy hour appetizers, wine, mellow live music - and lots of talking.First date version 5: Thai curry or Indian vindaloo, dosas, naan and raita followed by a leisurely stroll - and lots of talking. I'm sure there are lots and lots of other options, but these sound good to me.
