About Me

I am looking for a funny, casual, intelligent, independent friends. Someday a serious relationship would be nice, but we must be friends first. I do enjoy meeting people and am pretty easy-going, but I'm naturally shy. So, I'm looking for a few good friends to help me get out more and fight my natural tendency to live like a hermit. I am not a health nut; but I have lost about ***lbs in the last couple of years (due to discount Mexican surgery!) which means eating is kinda tough, but I still like trying to do it.I love music, though sadly I was not blessed with any sort of musical ability. I am mostly into indie-folk/pop these days but listen to a little bit of most everything. Due to my love of gadgets and computers some may call me a geek. Though I am not quite (yet) the crazy cat lady, I do have more pets than I intended or that is probably legal within city limits. Love mostly all critters. Not so fond of snakes, though apparently I have some of those, too. Not hugely into sports but I do love football ***Saints, Chiefs, Redskins. I love to travel, though work allows only so much. I've also re-discovered my love for roller coasters recently, and hit as many as possible within summer schedule. Wheee!!I love to laugh and generally don't take much seriously. I'm outspoken and politically liberal, with little patience for *** rudeness. I can be crass, vulgar, juvenile and undoubtedly offensive to anyone who holds deep political or religious convictions. Most people probably assume by my language I was raised by truckers, or maybe sailors. My parents would be mortified tho, as they were neither of those things and really tried to raise me well, they just fell short. I'm an IT professional, and for some reason outside of work I don't have much use for computers.     I thought Id give this a try again. I'm a 42 year old lesbian, mother of a grown son and RN. I work in the ICU and dabble in ER and psychiatry nursing which I find very interesting. I have worked in health care for over 20 years and have been with the same company for the past 17 years. I enjoy my job tremendously and have a ton of stories to share (without violating HIPPA of corse) I havent dated much over the past few years... I guess Ive been busy with work, trying to establish myself and raising my son (who is 22 now and in the Air Force stationed in Germany) I guess I would describe myself as funny, witty, caring, romantic, spontaneous, artistic, honest,outgoing, sometimes clumsy, goofy, and a bad speller, my friends would probably add in weird, funny-sarcastic, and "nice". I enjoy watching movies especially a good horror or comedy. I do like to go out occasionally, play pool/dance but by no means have I ever been a bar fly. I hold my friends dear and while I have a small family I have a large extended family. I enjoy getting together with friends and playing board games, truth or dare and debating over just about any topic. I enjoy cooking but hate doing the dishes. I'm a constant doodler/sketcher, ever since I was a child. Of corse I enjoy the outdoors too wether its camping by the ocean or visiting the redwoods. I also love to travel. I think my favorite place so far has been France. I'm looking forward to making some new friends and hopefully someone special in the process.

    Hello!People tell me that I am a good friend, wonderful listener/easy to talk to, intelligent, put others at ease, easy to trust and a lover no one ever forgets. I also hear that I am a "wonderful lesbian catch" although I am not really sure what that means. Maybe it means I have a job, no drug and/or alcohol issues and I'm not CRAZY (at least not in a destructive way). I am strong but vulnerable, sweet, quirky, intense, focused and passionate. I love to laugh. ... I am open to whatever the universe brings me really whether that means a friend or the love of my life. I just wish it would be bring me something! LOLI am going to school so my time is limited. I would love someone to distract me once in a while - dinner, movie maybe a beer or coffee. A refreshing diversion now and then would be SO nice! :) I love sushi...just about any kind of food actually. I like good times and good people. I love intelligent conversation and a quick wit. I've lived here a long time but have not seen or done much. Now is my time to explore a bit. Even though I have many responsibilities, I do enjoy doing outdoor things such as camping, and going to the beach. I am also an avid gardener, although I cannot be out in my beloved yard nearly enough. And despite my round-ness (LOL) I do like doing active things like light hiking, biking (I love to bike, however I need a new one so for the time being unless you have an extra that fits, this activity is out ....), walking, dancing, softball (although I have not done that in a long time), going to the gym with a buddy (boring to go alone) and martial arts (although I have not done that in even longer...something I'd like to return to). I also like indoor things like movies, car shows, art shows, tattoo conventions of course, and occasionally going clubbing. I will go along with you doing just about anything; I love to learn and if there are things you like to do then suggest those things and I will likely tag along!If any of this reverberates with you and what you want, then send me a message. The only thing you have to lose is a connection with a worthwhile person. My idea of a nice first date includes meeting somewhere quiet where we can talk and get to know one another better.
