If it is nice weather, then a place with outdoor seating and a view would be lovely. If it's rainy or cold, then a cozy atmosphere with candles sounds perfect. After dinner I would love to go listen to live music, dancing would be a bonus. I think a first date needs to provide the opportunity to get to know each other better without too many distractions. Movies and sporting events are better for later dates.
