I'm an old-fashioned, modern girl, loves animals, loves my family and friends, am very strong and independent and am looking for someone who accepts me as I am, as I will with the right person. I can be very intense, yet very calm and cool. I guess you can say I have a passion for whatever I do. This writing about myself is not so easy, so bear with me. Don't take this intensity to mean that I am a fly off the handle, out of control broad; on the contrary, I am altogether together and have my head on straight. I love to have fun and laugh and you need to be able to do that for me. Laughing at myself can be done with no problem and I hope you can do the same. The man I meet must love animals, not a smoker, is passionate about most things in life, yet doesn't break easily, funny, handsome and accepts me as I am and I am a pretty nice person and would like the man I am with to have a big strong hearted soul. I can go on, but it would be nice to speak in person. Sitting on a park bench with a soda and hot dog and just talking to get to know each other. We can sit in a restaurant also, if you prefer. :***

LET'S GET THIS STRAIGHT....I'm dressed like a friggin' NUN in my photos..no "cuddle time" before meeting and greeting. Just sayin'...I am just a nice girl looking for a nice guy. But not desperate. My time is limited and precious. I am a mom, 4 kids, all older, one still at home for one more year. She is my life. I work hard, I am a student, an artist and I have been on my own for 10 years now. I am baffled as to why the laundry and dishes keep piling up - only me and my girl at home. Mysterious. It is like the missing sock thing. One time I cleaned my dryer vent and found 4 single socks and 20 bucks. Awesome!“'But I don’ 'Oh, you can’t help that,' said the Cat. 'We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.' 'How do you know I’m mad? 'You must be,” said the Cat. 'or you wouldn’t have come here.'” Meh. That about sums it up.I am a Librarian, tho' my training and education is mostly art and communications. I work all day with children and young people. I am a perpetual student, heading into my 4th year at BCC, slowly working on my second AA, eventually a BA or BS and maybe a Masters someday. I like my space. Raised 4 kids, and did a superb job. They are fabulous. I make great art. I don't much care about how much "stuff" you have. I am not into stuff. I love people and personalities.I love animals, music - mostly listen to country - books, reading, walking, talking, writing...extremely right - brained and mathematically challenged. Oh well. I tried to fish, literally, I mean. With an actual pole and bait. Turned out I was good at spotting bait, digging sand fleas, and snagging rocks. And guarding the cooler. I think that should count for SOMETHING> I like hiking - would prefer the mountains, but like the local nature preserves. Owned a horse in my youth, love to ride. Pretty basic stuff, I oame from a military family, so I am used to uprooting and traveling. I tend towards restlessness at times. I am fairly content with my life. I recently had a life-changing medical scare that put me in a new place of perspective.. Gratitude is key, as is forgiveness, love, faith, understanding and acceptance...rarely is it level. I am capable of drama but do not seek it. No longer so easily rattled. Everything is as it should be.I believe: The best time to plant a tree was 50 years ago...second best time? TODAY. (My Gumbo Limbo is flowering...whooo hooo!!!) I'm drawing a blank. I think of it as a meet and greet, not a date.

Hi!I'm looking to date and find a friend that will develop into a relationship now that my kids are old enough to take care of themselves! It's been so long since I could take time for myself! Hobbies: love to golf (but am really bad at it), joined a bowling league so I could have a Saturday night out with some friends, love to ride my bike and take long walks. I do jazzercise 3x a week. I enjoy going to Ravinia and enjoy bringing a picnic basket of food and good wine. I enjoy country music, but listen to anything but rap. I love a good sense of humor in the guy I'm seeing. I like the talkative type vs the quiet type and am easy to talk too. I don't play games; I'm candid and straight forward. I'm down to earth and low maintenance. Love a sense of humor--someone who can make me laugh. Someone to have fun with!I'm not interested in having an affair or sleeping around. Don't bother writing me if that is all you have in mind. I'd like to develop a relationship with the right guy.I don't take good pictures..so don't judge me on looks alone and I won't do the same. But i feel having a profile picture is a good start. I've love to know why guys won't post a picture....I just don't get it. On a first date, I would enjoy going somewhere quite to talk. Just to get to know one another to see if there is any chemistry and find out more about one another. This could be over a cup of coffee (my favorite is Dunkin...but Starbucks is fine too!) or a glass of red wine or taking a long walk. I'm practical and if there is no connection why waste each others time!
