I am truly a happy person and I would love to meet a special man with whom to share my joy. I am looking for a committed relationship, but hope to find someone who understands that relationships and the trust that goes with them take time. I'm willing to make the investment. I am looking for someone who gets that at this stage of life, wisdom accompanies recognition and acceptance of imperfection. Smiles come easy to me and a sense of humor in a man is essential. I have reached a point in my life where my time is free to dedicate on other pursuits after years as a dedicated, single mom. My daughter is fabulous and in college and I see her whenever I can. I create a busy life for myself, but don't be discouraged! I will reorganize to spend time with the right person. I am a passionate person, about many things. I hope you are too! I love to see live music (especially at outdoor venues), venture out to new places, take in festivals of any kind, stay in with friends by the pool or chiminea, travel to the lake, kayak, dance to country, blues, or just about anything. I work out regularly at a gym, sing in a choir, create unique, healthy and delicious meals and sample wine given any opportunity. I enjoy the outdoors, camping and even fishing. Quiet time by the lake or campfire is pure joy. Beaches are my preference. (Not much of a cold weather gal, but I have been known to read by the fire and work out in the gym to hang with the snow bunnies.) I'm a dog (not a cat) person (sorry I'm allergic). I like to travel but admittedly most of my travels have remained domestic. Hoping to expand those horizons.My friendships are extremely important to me and I am committed to maintaining them.I'm a hard worker and have a career that I thoroughly enjoy and in which I take pride. I like to believe that I make a difference in the world. My free time, however, is the most important time to me. I am an extrovert and people person and love engaging in conversation. I believe that communication is essential to any relationship.I am a strong person, probably a factor of many life challenges. I believe in doing the right thing. I am outspoken and direct.I do not debate politics, but if you can't tolerate a liberal mindset, we will not be a good match.I am looking for a true partner in a man, someone I know will have my back and I his. I have learned to open my heart and am excited about the prospect of someone truly touching it again. Mutual respect and support seem hard to come by at this stage of life and I wonder why that is. I'm willing to keep trying until I find him. Some of the qualities I look for in a man: funny, intelligent, self-confident, kind, appreciative and respectful of women. Above all, he should be a good communicator. I hope for a partner with whom the hours will race because there is so much to learn and understand about each other. I'm not one to pretend to please and do not misrepresent who I am inside and am looking for like qualities in a man. I like an accomplished man but run from arrogance and if you get that, bingo! I have a very down to earth nature.Finally, I am most attracted to men who lead a healthy lifestyle (meaning they take care of their minds and their bodies) and who are "gentlemen" in the old fashioned sense.     I love to work out after work, enjoy doing outdoor activities like golf (not good though), Kayaking, love the lake and the beach. I have just started bowling on a weekly league which I enjoy.
