About Me

I'm independent (work and own home) but prefer being half of a couple. Hoping to fall in mutual love but want to get to know each other and see where it goes. I'd like to find a partner in life who doesn't necessarily share my interests but respects them as I will his, focusing on our similarities and accepting our differences. I believe what's important is enjoying each others' company no mater where we are or what we're doing. I'd like a man I can defer to because he has a good head on his shoulders, one who knows the path he wants to take in life, is emotionally available, kind, honest, affectionate, takes care of himself (no smokers, please), works out regularly and is not overweight (or even close to ***lbs, I'm small!) I love all things natural, including sights, sounds and smells, so I'm not a fan of motorcycles (so if you have one, not only will I not ride on it, you'll have to hide it from me! LOL) Please include pic below chest, only fair, plenty of mine are! I'm petite ***lbs) w/ long, dark curly hair, grateful daily for good health and great friends, definitely not high maintenance. I'm caring and energetic. I've been told I'm always smiling (not in pics tho!), down-to-earth, fun, and have a zest for life. I'm empathetic, monogomous, love to laugh, thrive on affection and praise (giving and receiving), try to learn from mistakes (preferably others'!), make the best of things, and don't sweat the small stuff. Love rowing through the salt-marsh (kayaker companion welcome!), having a car door opened for me, running my fingers thru a nice head of hair, bicycling (to enjoy nature, not to race!) Like eating healthy so cook most meals from scratch (lots of veggies!) but do enjoy a weekly splurge at a nice restaurant (and the excuse to wear a dress!), and reading weather/sea nonfiction adventures. I'm a nature-lover,always open for adventure, and stay fit by exercising daily (photos recent). I don't kiss on first dates (hugs are good tho! :-) so if this is necessary to determine chemistry, please pass me by!

    I listed all this in my interests but here it is again forgive my repeating. I enjoy working on my home redecorating or repair. I reclaim repair and re purpose old things like furniture and such. I enjoy being outside , walks in a park ,working in the yard. I love the water, in it ,on it or by it is the best place to be!. I am always ready for a road trip. I love going to new places, I enjoy historical places, state parks, Rt 66 ! I like flea markets and museums. And camping. I have a pop up camper sorry don't sleep on the ground any more! To be able to put a smile on the face of someone who's having a bad day is a good feeling. I am almost always smiling. Life truly is to short not to be enjoyed. I have been a widow for over seven years and I miss having someone to share life with.I am an affectionate person.We always hug hello and goodbye! I treat people as I want to be treated. I am trusting to a fault. And wont tell a lie to save me,or you for that matter. I am old fashion in some ways As the song says" I don't hook up" . I don't judge those who do but it's just not for me. I find confidence and manners very attractive. My glass is full of possibilities!Update I have just quit Smoking! I put occasionally just in case :) Depending on the weather, because if its nice outside a walk threw a park or by the water , stopping for coffee,soda or a drink would be nice. Or a museum or flea market, all the things there would give us plenty of conversation starter. Where ever, it needs to be some place we could talk, to get to know each other.

    Right up front I will say that a dating website is not my favorite way to meet someone. It seems to be the way of the times so I am willing to give it a try once again. My kids are grown so I guess it's time for me these days. I enjoy gardening, being in my yard and all seasons except winter. If I could be a "snowbird".......I do love Spring, Summer and Fall and being outdoors enjoying the weather- even mowing the lawn :) A nice fire in the firepit this time of year sounds like fun.Cooking and trying new recipes is very enjoyable.
