Not looking to be taken care of but would welcome being cared for and eventually loved. Yes, I said the "L" word..if that's scary for you...please stop reading now. Wanting to meet someone to do things with, I love my life and am tired of living it alone. My girlfriends are all in relationships and I'm always the proverbial "fifth wheel"...so I opt out of functions and work *** I might add. It's time to get balance back in my life...work to live, not live to work as they say.I'm independent yet don't want to go it alone. It would be nice to share my life with someone. To know I have a strong shoulder to lean on, someone I can depend on, at those times when things get overwhelming and I don't know which way to turn. Occasionally I just need a hug, and the reassurance that everything will be alright, as much as I love my Dad, it's just not the same as if it were coming from "my man". :). Would love to meet someone who wants what I do. Not looking to move in together or get married after the first date thank you but do want to share my free time with a significant other with the hope that the relationship will develop into something long term. You should like (or even better love) dogs as I have two and we are a package deal (no different than you guys with kids still at home but I can send my "kids" off to boarding camp when I want to go away on a trip, I hope you have that flexibility too). You're a little bit old school, and know how to treat a woman, you're a romantic at heart. You enjoy travel to warm tropical places when it's cold in BC, exploring our beautiful province in the spring and summer months, fishing, going for long walks/hikes (with the dogs), dining in or out, reading, playing board/card games, music (extra points if you favor R&B of the 60's, 70's, 80's), the occasional movie, preferably at home, curled up on the couch with a beverage and appies readily available. You relish the thought of sleeping until 9:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning...lol. I am complicated in an uncomplicated way and I live a simple life. I believe in karma and paying it forward. Yes, I have my faults, but if you can't deal with me when I'm at my worst, you'll certainly not be able to handle me at my best. I give as good as I get. I am fortunate to have been blessed with both brains and beauty (so I've been told). I can be wild and crazy, calm and demure, sophisticated and classy, down and dirty, a little girl, a mature woman. I can be athletic or lazy, conservative or liberal, silly or serious. EVEN WHEN CAMPING!!), outdoorsy, yada yada yada. i don't like negative people, drunks, druggies, obviously. i love people who like-to smile, laugh, talk, take walks, dogs, horses, red wine, wonderful food, live music(not every night in a bar though), wine festivals, music festivals(i love the blues), the beach, lakes, rivers, streams, boats(small, big, no preference)camping, not camping(HA!), good movies, great books. i never watch television, so if you do, you will be doing it alone. i like to spend my free time outside with my dogs, i do a little trail riding with some friends who have horses, lying around by the water, on the water, making dinner for friends, going to antique stores, sightseeing, stopping in at local wineries, having my friends over to shoot pool. i LOVE to get dressed up and have a nice slow wonderful meal, or not***jeans, t-shirt, mexican dive with great margaritas! need to know more? ask.I HAD TO COME BACK AND ADD A FEW THINGS! i'm sorry if anyone finds this offensive, but i am in no way interested in dating someone who is overweight. no smokers. period. also none of you guys who have a bunch of negative comments in your profile, "looking for my next ex-wife" kind of stuff. if you have a lot of pictures of you with other women, even if you have tried to cut them out, that too is a BIG turn off since i am not looking for a player. oh, and those icky pictures of yourself naked...no. i always prefer an early dinner for a first date. have a drink somewhere, chat, decide what type of food we agree on. go somewhere either fun or delicious for dinner (or both if we agree to get dressed up!) enjoy a relaxed dinner, more chatting. then on to dessert! yes i have a ferocious sweet tooth. if dinner goes well, maybe holding hands and having a stroll afterward. see, i'm pretty simple. save the more complicated dates for someone more demanding, or for further down the road. i prefer to get to know someone, quietly, first.
