I am shy when you first meet me, but once you get to know me you will find that I am a fun loving, affectionate, outgoing person. I am always up for an adventure even if it means getting lost. LOST is an adventure. I am self sufficient, independent, and honest, sometimes brutally honest. I’m fiery and passionate and as comfortable staying in as going out. I love a good debate and even sometimes play devil’s advocate just for fun.I’m looking for someone who doesn’t take life to seriously and can laugh at themselves, who is spontaneous and likes surprises, someone interested in a relationship not just sex. My hobbies are many and not enough. I love a challenge and get bored quickly. Confidence is sexy. No boys please, I need a man.

I'm constantly bewildered by the cruel joke of heterosexuality. Why am I drawn to and attracted to the opposite sex when it appears that everything about us is, indeed, opposite? It seems that men are more suited to living with men, and women with women. So why are we trying to fit a square peg into a round hole (please pardon the pun as I believe I've just answered my own question while philosophizing). I am sort of a walking contradiction in that I love people but am sort of a loner. I'm a little bit country, but I'm also a little bit rock 'n' roll. I love to go for a long hike in the woods with my dogs, but when I get home I might blast some Radiohead or Pink Floyd... or Johnny Cash. Then there's big band music! So much to choose from...I like social gatherings but I'm more likely to enjoy doing something productive. Most of my hobbies entail solitude. Things like painting, writing (screenplays mostly), hiking, biking, hanging out with my dogs. Very dedicated to my dysfunctional family, as well. I'm not a huge fan of television but do like public TV and a few cable shows like "Curb Your Enthusiasm." I could watch that show for hours. Also like Mad Men and a guilty pleasure is "The Bachelor". I can be too serious/cynical about life sometimes but when my mind is free from worrying about my family, my friends and the planet, I can be a hell of a lot of fun! I love to laugh but I also can appreciate a peaceful Sunday morning drinking coffee, listening to music and reading the paper. (One stripper said that a raisin was once originally a pickle--I'm sorry, it's cruel but it makes me feel better about myself!) I'm a pescatarian and would prefer someone that's not big on eating meat. Also would love someone who is outdoorsy and more of a homebody than an adventurer.I've been told I'm a gay man trapped in a woman's body. Maybe you should be a lesbian trapped in a man's body? First date should always be quick and painless, like ripping off a band-aid, just to see if there is chemistry. A quick dinner/drink or lunch is preferred. If we make it to the second date, I'd like to take a day trip to a city I've never been to before (provided I'm driving so you can't try to kidnap me, only to be seen again on milk cartons--Have you seen this girl?) and explore the local culture. Restaurants, shops, art museums, plays, etc. If the day goes well, the drive back home exchanging time on the iPods (which we'll bring on the first date, of course) should be titillating!

Just looking to come across some real people who have something to say. Can't deal with the games some people play...so if that's what you are about..then please, by all means, pass on by. But if you're real..then, by all means...send me a note. I prefer a man who is honest, caring, dominant(in a respectful way), funny, thoughful, and who knows how to be serious when necessary. I am a 44 year old woman who definately wants to meet a real man, not "boys". I have a son who turned 24 in April, and a daughter who will turn 10 in November. They are definately my EVERYTHING. They are above all else, except for my God. I like to talk, laugh, cook, read, play pool (even though I'm not too good at it), love the beach, playing cards, listening to music (almost all kinds). I'm honest, caring, faithful, thoughtful, funny, sweet, sensual, smart, and even silly at times.**I'm not skinny/thin..so if you're looking for a Barbie, keep looking elsewhere. Want to know anything else, feel free to ask.... A good first date is dinner (restaurant, picnic, or home cooking) and talking into the night getting to know each other a little.
