I look regularly into the mirror and ask myself if I am doing a good job as a human being. I continuously seek to improve myself - physically, mentally. emotionally and spiritually. Do you? It matters. Your attractiveness might make me feel chemistry for you; but your intelligence, personality & character will make me want to stay near you. Let's not message forever before meeting! I don't do mobile and simply can't be strapped always to my computer, nor want to. This site is an emotional vacume...let's see blinking, breathing, smiling, mannerisms, hear one another's voices! A week or a bit longer before meeting/phoning - tops, unless extenuating circumstances... :)The arts are my line of work, and I am indeed an artist at heart - but I've a scientist's mind and an intellectual's soul. Proud? Yes. But obnoxiousness or mean-spiritedness is not a part of me. I work as part of a close-knit community, surrounded by people who inspire me daily. My multi-faceted background has me working in several different creative capacities, and I work hard at my career. Each day, week and month is not quite the same! I love that about what I do. There is a certain amount of cross-over between my work and social life and sometimes my schedule gets hectic, but it always soon settles down. :)I strongly value my private life - my relationships among family and close friends - and above all, making time for a partner...so long as he is making me an equal priority once a relationship is established. I love conversation, among other forms of sharing, in a relationship. So you should be intellectually inclined. And you MUST be able to laugh with me! I enjoy bantering at times with someone who's like-minded. It's either there between two people or it's not, it can't be forced. It's a way of connecting...a means of showing fondness...it can be a verbal foreplay, too ;) So a fellow who can tolerate, if not outright appreciate, my silly antics would be ideal :) I believe that life is a combination of the choices that we make AND the intuitions that can guide us in making them. I see my own life as a reflection of this. I enjoy the independence of living in my sweet little place in the heart of downtown. However, nature/the outdoors is in my soul, and I usually escape the city on a weekly basis - to the ocean, a lake or a beautiful forest. Horses and riding are a passion of mine. I like to keep active all year round. I'm a significant foodie and love trying all different types of exotic cuisine, the spicier the better, especially when paired with a good wine :) Red,please. Cooking just for one gets tiresome though, doesn't it?Did someone say "travel"?- I have a kooky streak, with a dash of silly. Please do NOT confuse this to mean "flake".- I am principled, affectionate, strong-willed and smart. - Passionate, whimsical. tenderhearted, confident, kind. - I love decorating/fixing up and being a homebody - very happy right now over my new laminate floor! - reading, puttering - when not socializing...- I grew up with animals; I adore them and will always need them in my life. - After many years of doglessness, I adopted a Labrador retriever this past spring...I am seeking a man who:- Is also open to something that could become a long term relationship with a promising future!...Like me, he's willing to start with one date at a time :***Can handle finances/financial obligations. - Is in a job he loves. - Was taught honesty and integrity; it's a part of his personal character. - Is insightful into how the world works, yet he STILL chooses to be an optimist (not easy to do in this day and age) :***Is communicative and emotionally mature (HINT: tantrums, sulking and passive-aggression are examples of the opposite).- Enjoys conversation; intellectual and emotional closeness.- Is up for trying both new things together - along with the more comfy, routine things :)- Is comfortable giving and receiving affection.- Is open to the unknown in life; the magic. So while I love how we come in all shapes and sizes, I am honestly only personally attracted and can commit to men who are slim/fit in build, who take care of their diet and health, and plan to keep doing so in future. Artists never really retire, and I plan on still dancing, riding, and mov'in when I'm 75+...you would need to keep up! - I sincerely plan to leave the door open on children; this all depends for me on the relationship's future and what kind of father my future partner would be, quite frankly.
