Hello Thanks for dropping in to read about me ;)Well....this online dating scene is still a bit of a bizarre concept for me. After giving it a lot of thought, and seeing as though I very rarely get out I figure that I may as well face this unknown and take a chance. I (and you) never know...Why don't I get out? I am a single mamma and have been from the get go. I have also been balancing mamma- Now that I've graduated (and no longer stay up till 4 Am writing research papers), getting out on the town and making a real connection is now a bit more possible. That's where you come in;)What rocks my world? My son (of course). He's very cool. Isn't there a saying about the apple not falling far from the tree? Being in nature. Music........jazz, hip hop, reggae, folk .....and anything with a good beat or a little bit of ambiance :). Staying healthy, and the feeling that I get after working out. Shiraz. Playing and writing music. Appreciating movies. Pondering and feeling glimpses of interconnectedness. Dancing barefoot in the grass under the stars (It's been a long time). Sustainability. Traveling to foreign countries. Beaches :)Why am I unique? Well....because I am... as we all are. I am social (although with a shy edge)... yet not afraid of spending months in a cabin in the forest by myself with no electricity nor running water. I am as interested in being thrown smack dab in the middle of NYC as I am in being dropped onto a boat access only beach on the wild west coast. I have an appreciation for the diversity, cultures and excitement of the big city but carry the heart of a small town girl who wishes to live on a lovely piece of land and grow all my own food. Writing this profile is actually really challenging. I do not consider myself a literary person, despite loving to read and digesting books when ever possible. I find it challenging to be as articulate as I would want to be yet not bore the crap out of you. I could ramble on about all the sports that I enjoy such as skiing, snowshoeing, biking, kayaking, etc. but, what’s the fun in that. It would be way more fun to go out and do them. The only thing that I would not do again is roller-blade. If you only saw me (was worth a good laugh) and the valiant effort that I made. I even bought a pair one summer but that summer, the medical clinic saw more of me than anyone would wish for. Perseverance is a good word to describe me that summer. I was really determined to learn and like it. Did Not Work! I never want to see a pair again. I love the mountains, love the ocean, we have some culture and lots of events to enjoy. There are great restaurants here that please every palate and what’s more fun than sitting on a patio in the summer and taking it all in. I have a close network of friends and some of my family live here. I am social and like to get to know and chat with many people. I like to be out and laugh and just have fun because after all, life is too short not to. Ciao for nowPS I spend as many weekends as possible during the Winter at Whistler so if you have a passion for the slopes, you win brownie points in my books (not happy brownies, just plain brownies cuz we are over that stuff now). Plus, cold weather can lead to cuddling by a roaring fire and that’s always nice.PPS I am here with the intention of dating for a potential relationship if I meet that elusive someone. I am not interested in dating for the purpose of FWB or no-strings-attached friendship.
