About Me

It's hard to describe yourself and maintain any semblance of modesty, so forgive me. My friend's wives call me "a catch" and are constantly trying to set me up, so I thought I'd take matters into my own hands and try this. I enjoy: creating and viewing art, playing the guitar and piano, keeping fit, and scuba diving. I could keep going, but it would be better to leave something to talk about when we meet. lol I am often told I don't look my age. While I'm sure genetics are partially responsible,I've come to believe that it is because I haven't been beaten down by life. We've all been through the ringer at some point and have earned the wrinkles we wear. It's how we wear them that matters. Everyone gets tired, but if tired defines you, we probably aren't a match. The little boy in the picture with me is my son. I have three daughters as well. Two of them are off in college. I share custody of the minors with their mother and love them beyond words. I could say they have a mom already, but the truth is that whomever I fall in love with and marry won't be a step-stranger, but a step-mom.     It has occurred to me that since more people read these short essays than I first thought, I figured that maybe I should provide a little more detail, however I still believe that most people men and women make their initial decision based off of looks. However if someone sees a picture of someone that appeals to them I guess that reading a little bit about that person is a good next step; if for no other reason to see if that person can type in complete sentences with proper spelling. At this point I guess I should say a little about myself so here goes. First off I have a stable career, and have been employed by the same company for almost 27 years. My job has recently allowed me to travel to Europe quite a bit in the last two years. I have also been to Haiti twice in the past two years on mission trips, and these trips really helped me to see just how good we have it here. I look forward to a return trip ASAP. I am an extremely giving person and will give until it hurts if I know the receiver truly appreciates it. For those of you who are familiar with the five love languages the one I speak the most is acts of service. I would rather show you how I feel than tell you however I am working on doing a better job of verbalizing my feelings also. If we ever meet you may have to tell me to shut up or I may talk your ear off. My interest are quite varied, and I can feel at home in many different settings be it a trip to a flea market or a classical music concert dressed to the nines. Last but certainly not least I'm looking for someone who can be a friend first, and I don't mean FWB or bed buddy or booty call or one night stand. If I have learned nothing else it is this; a relationship that is based on sex too early is like a house built on sand, it will not survive once the first storm comes along, it will simply wash away. Something both people can agree on that makes you feel safe. We can work out the details if we get to that point.
