I am an east bay native, grew up in Rockridge and have lived in the area my whole life. I've been to Europe a few times and like to travel to other places too.I am looking for a relationship with a woman around my age, someone that perhaps is also a parent like me. I have designed building systems for everything from hospitals, schools, high end residential, breweries, high tech, laboratories, etc. I got my degree at Cal Poly and I love my job and career. I did "Mr. Mom" for a number of years when my girls were young and I had my own consulting business during that time. However today I have a great job with a local firm here in the east bay. On several occasions, I've visited my girls' school to teach at their classes about science and solar energy. This is one of the most rewarding things I've gotten to do; seeing the young students engaged is awesome. I volunteer a lot with my engineering society; I was formerly the president of our local chapter. My philanthropy with this group includes both leadership and advocacy roles. I am driven to make a difference.I am very passionate about these aspects of my life, but I do play hard too :-) When I am not doing the engineering thing, I enjoy indy/garage rock music, craft beer, traveling, and most importantly, parenting and being with my two girls. I love R.E.M.;little broken hearts". I've been fortunate to have met several musicians from some of these bands, they are so cool. I don't know how to play any *** I aspire to learn how to play guitar someday.I love to cook too.Finally, I must explain that if I contact you with an introduction, it's because I would like to learn more about you and perhaps meet. It means I am interested. But my message won't be very long. I can do the "old fashion" thing here to a degree. I can be charming but only if I know you are receptive. We either need to meet or chat before I can pour it on. So please reply if you are interested. I need to have that feedback before I can be charming. I am pretty open, A good first date could be meeting on a weekend morning for coffee, lunch, or a drink after work. During that first date I would look forward to learning more about what makes you tick and determine if we have interests and values in common.
