About Me

Imagine that you are standing in line at a café somewhere in Europe or South America. Imagine you’re smiling brightly eyeing a chocolate croissant. Imagine too that I am behind you in line and that I’ve noticed you. Maybe it is because of your beautiful smile and natural beauty. But maybe, too, it’ Or maybe it’s because of the way you flick your hair as you think about your next adventure. And seeing you covet that croissant makes me want to speak up and same something funny. To tell you a joke or to ask about the book you have in your hand. But we are strangers in a line and what could I say without sounding a little weird. Besides, we may not even speak the same language. Even if we do, you might find it a little strange if I start talking about myself and my interests. And besides, all you might be thinking about is sinking your teeth into that delicious chocolate croissant while sipping on your latte. I hope you glance back and like what you see. I hope that you like tall, dark, French Canadian men with charming smiles. That you think I am handsome and intriguing. That you aren't intimidated by confident and outspoken men. Would you say thank you and move on or would you ask something trivial to be polite? Would you be intrigued by the amount of travelling I have done and my unique view of the world. But we aren’t in a café in some foreign country right now and we don’t speak different languages, so I guess what I am asking is – if you turned around in that line after I said something funny would you sit down and share a travel story or two with me? If so, what would you say? A quick drink and maybe a stroll along the water.

Looking for: woman. In age: 42-52

I am not the most public person nor am I a big self-promoter - perhaps a less than ideal combination for this form of meeting people. I am more about getting to know people one to one than trying to get everything you would want to know about me in a 'picture and a paragraph' (as one such site says). I believe myself to be a good friend, casual or otherwise, and intelligent, funny, and loyal. I love the area and all that it has to offer (including 4 real seasons) but I have to admit I am a little sad being out of the South.!!). I am always open to about anything interesting and especially hoping to find someone to explore all there is to do in the DC- I am a tech guy so if it has a chip in it then I am probably on good terms with it. I pick up new things quickly; enjoy learning new things or pursuing existing interests. I tend to pursue interests with passion rather than wandering around from one thing to another. I am competitive, though not insanely so - I figure if you are going to do something you mind as well do it well. Things that perplex me...Why I do the things I do and why others do the things they do fascinates me sometimes. It is always a curiosity to me trying to understand the choices that people make. Different backgrounds, different beliefs, different preferences - all these things lead to such an interesting array of outcomes and choices. Also, why do people stop/stand in doorways? Have they made it through life without anyone explaining to them that doorways are for egress and not a place to stand and check your *** around for your keys?I have been thinking a little bit about carrots of late. Should I buy the full sized carrots that are great for grating up in a salad or something but require peeling and whatnot or should I go with the perfectly bite sized ready to eat baby carrots? It seems a small choice ... but whichever I get I seem to wish I had gotten the other. Life’s little dilemmas, oh well. I could detail something romantic, sexy, and elaborate but I have come to learn from experience that it is more important who you are with than what you are doing or where you are. I think a first date is best done simple so the focus is on learning about the other person and finding out if you enjoy each other.

I'm fun loving, free spirited, passionate, spontaneous and adventurous man with a great personality. I consider myself attractive and generally a happy person with a good sense of humor... I enjoy my life, Im down to earth, honest with a caring heart. I would like to find someone special to spend life with. Something casual. Somewhere a little quiet to where we can talk and get to know each other. Maybe something a little active.

...but it's nicer with a companion. Rather than write some long dirge, I think ***'m going to just throw out whatever random thoughts come to me while I'm editing this.I just got out of a long relationship not too long ago, so I am really and truly not looking for anything serious. This is not to say that if things started to move in that direction that I would actively thwart it. I'm just saying that I put no pressure on myself, or anyone else. In fact, I think some previous relationships got killed when the person I was with started...shall we say, making plans without consulting me first. I have a (stereo)typical office job down in the Tech Center area. Not my dream job but I work with good people and it pays the bills. I have a huge music collection and an equally absurd amount of music equipment with which to listen to aforementioned music. I am a Broncos fan. This is not something I chose, but rather, something that occurred as a natural evolution from living here. I'm not from here, I am a native Iowan. My two favorite bands are The Chameleons and Kitchens of Distinction. Both British, both defunct. If you know either (or both) I may already love you.More to come as I think of it...thanks for dropping by! Drinks. Or maybe cake. Who doesn't like cake? Communists, that's who.
