Getting back on my feet and getting my life back together after a failed marriage. Things are civil between myself and the ex for the sake of our child. Getting re-acquainted with living alone. It has it's advantages to be sure, but I miss the companionship.I work with my family, running a small sales & I'm the resident computer guy / quality guy / warehouse manager / whatever other hat needs wearing guy. That said, I'm not looking for serial dating either. I want to meet new people, and make new friends, with no expectations. If / when the right woman comes along, we'll both know.I enjoy a wide array of activities from strolling museums to biking wooded trails to rocking out at concerts. I'm a new convert to the gym, starting this past Jan. Never thought I'd get as hooked as I have, but feeling better than you have in years will do that for you. I'd like to get my ski-legs back as well. It's been many years since I've enjoyed that, and I really want to get my daughter started. I'm always up for pick-up games...volleyball, basketball, softball, whatever. Looking to meet someone to share these activities with.I love art, but I'm not much of an artist myself. I tend to be more logical / rational / scientific about things. I try to balance the dryness with a sarcastic sense of humor. My humor can run dark at times, and I credit that to the absurdity of our world. Sometimes you just can't help but laugh at what life throws at you, and laughter always makes it easier to deal with.Musically, I love almost all styles, but I'm a rocker at heart. From 50's doo-wop, to 60's psychedelic, to 70's classic, to 80's metal, to 90's grunge, I like it all. It's not all crunchy guitars though. All styles of music have their time and place, even classical. My current go-to radio stations are 98.3 The Shark. Thanks to my daughters influence, you might also catch me listening to WBLI. About the only music I can't wrap my head around is either super-twangy country, or hardcore thug rap.You'll almost always find me singing a song, but I've never done karaoke. Maybe you'll be the one to convince me...Socially, I'm very liberal and open about most issues. Live and let live! Have to keep an open mind, and I'm always up for debate. If you really want to catch my attention, challenge me, make me think of an issue in a way I haven't before. I'm more conservative financially, and I can be a bit old fashioned when it comes to dating and romance. I'm fine with a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, a mixed drink, maybe some light eats. How about a walk down at the beach with an ice cream? Casual and comfortable for conversation is best. Someplace where it's easy to talk and get to know one another.

Hi. I'm an artistic and athletic individual who enjoys life in moderation. I can enjoy going out to a movie or BBQ with my friends, as well as staying home and watching an old movie on TCM. I am an art teacher who likes to sketch and paint. I enjoy working out, but I'm far from being a lunk head. Now that the weather is warm, I spend a lot of afternoons swimming, and occasionally wake boarding or skiing. I am fond of birds (as pets and in the wild) and driving down the highway during the summer with the windows down and the radio on. I think what makes me unique is that I am a good listener (most of the time) and I can be intense. I do like music but don’t listen to it everyday. Mostly on the weekends I like to listen to the radio, usually while driving. Don’t’ ask me what my favorite sound is on the radio though because I don’t pay that close attention. I aspire to be a better, happier person. Things can get rough in life, but I am trying to find my way. Maybe someone else feels the same way. I wouldn’t describe myself as cheery but I am pretty genuine. I like to give things to people I like, whether it is motivation, a fresh perspective or a small token of my appreciation. It makes me feel good when I feel like I have helped someone. I aspire to be more trusting, too. That’s key if you are to get anything out of life. I feel sorrier for the person who can’t trust than I do for the person who trusts too much – because I know the pitfalls of the former. I would also like to manage the stresses of life in a healthier way than I too often do. (I don’t do drugs and am not an alcoholic but do know where the cookie aisle is at Trader Joe’s.) I have friends, but my closest friends are my family. I like and respect my friends but would like to find someone with whom I could perhaps develop a closer relationship. I have been told I have a good sense of humor, but it doesn’t come out that often. I think it would be good to meet over coffee on the weekend.
