I think the first time you meet someone face to face should be over coffee or a drink somewhere that you both feel comfortable and its convenient to meet and get acquainted! Then, if that goes well... my next nite out or time with him should be something he has planned or that we have agreed on together that would be fun and fitting for both parties, depending on our interests, I can usually go with the flow, not real picky like some can be :)
