Some of my closest friends are in my life because I took the chance and said "hi" to a stranger. So, I am putting myself out there to try to meet some new friends without hanging out in the bar scene! Looking for someone to go to a game with or watch one at a friendly pub. I much perfer the heat and beaches of the Dominican Republic, or even a beautiful warm day hiking in Banff or fishing along the Bow River. I am just a few months away from being an empty nester, but have a home with 2 Golden Retrievers and 3 cats. Aside from a part time job in healthcare, and having my own business, I am involved in volunteer work, and try to give my time to help others when I can. Although I am very strong and independant, I also enjoy walking hand in hand with a warm and caring man to share with him the softness of being a woman. I myself, will no doubt, be full of nervous anticipation of meeting for a first date. Likely meet at a resturant or pub, or a stroll through the zoo. Lots of talking, smiling and laughter as we get to know each other and hopefully grow more at ease. I guess where we met for this wonderful date, would depend on what happens next. ie afternoon at the zoo may lead to dinner. If we don't hit it off so well, we go our separate ways and wish each other all the best and goodness that life has to offer. If we do hit it off great, then we make plans to see each other again and see where life takes us.

I am at the point in my life where I can say "I did it", my children are gone, raising them on my own didn't give me the opportunity to venture out to find a relationship. Work is challenging but when I can unwind - I enjoy walking along the lake, good food, wine, camping, spending time with family and friends not necessarily in that order. I also enjoy a relaxed game of golf, but I'm not that good and don't keep score - that would be scary. LOL. I am also a very easy going person, open to trying new things within reason - I'll try anything once (legal activities lol) I enjoy spur of the moment road trips or hanging at home watching movies or reading a good book. I like to attend church on Sunday's, I haven't been for awhile, I believe in always trying to be a loving, caring and supportive friend to anyone I cross paths with. Always focusing on the positive in people. There is so much negative in this world and it's sad. My faith allows me to have compassion for the less fortunate people out there. I'm not perfect by any means, and honestly believe that you reap what you sew. I would rather send out goodness to people than harshness and bitterness. That stuff in poison and will destroy your spirit. I am looking for that special guy who's happy and content with himself. Likes to laugh, have fun everyday, and wants to share all of our great times to nurture into a Long-term Relationship.... How about - meet for coffee and if the weather is nice go for a long walk along the lake.
