About Me

I love exploring the outdoors - camping, hiking, skiing, cycling, running, being at, on or near the lake, road trips, barbecuing and being out with friends. I learned to ski in dry powdery snow with clean air and wide-open country and somehow took all of that for granted. I also enjoy my new perennial garden and am working on being a better cook. I feel blessed to have the friends that I do and my life has been enriched by them. My best friend would say that I am sassy, have spunk and courage to try things "outside the box". I enjoy seeing new places, trying new things and don't hesitate being out of my comfort zone in order to gain new experiences.I have been single for 12 years since divorce, and can finally say that after much research (first dates and a couple longer-term relationships), I have much more clarity about what I want. I also know and can say with some confidence that I make a good partner (a couple of trial runs and a great counselor does wonders). I am ready to share the rest of my life with the man who is hopefully in that same place in life. He is one who will enjoy the debrief with me at night, and will be my best friend and lover. The emotionally available someone who comes to the table ready to be a partner -that is the key piece.My lovely daughters are now grown, and while I miss the little girl sweetness in them, I like that they are older and can relate to me as adults. I have 2 best friends in them. That said, I am not looking to replay those years of my life and would prefer a mate with children who are older, if not grown as well. And if that's the case then we'll have more in common, right? No particular preference.....maybe coffee or a glass of wine.

    One of the things that attracts me most to a man is his sense of humor. The second thing is intelligent conversation and the third well...that's a guys arms. :- After playing around with the title far longer than I wanted to ... I ended up with shire and went with it. I don't know why. I am out going and have no problems making friends where ever I travel to. I have a totally corporate job but sport tattoos and love motorcycles.     Like most of the profiles I've read, I do enjoy anything outdoors and enjoy competitive sports. I am always up for an adventure and lead a full life. What's missing is someone special that I can share those moment with. I am not a couch potato, but on occasion, don't mind relaxing in front of the fire on a cold Friday night. I live a drama free life and prefer to focus on today and enjoy every moment. It's that first impression that can make or break a connection. Any environment in which we could have a great one on one conversation would be ideal. Outdoor seating at a restaurant on the water, a nice wine bar, or a casual meal with a somewhat intimate setting where we could spend time chatting and getting to know one another. If it works out, it will be a memorable place we would like to go back to.
