A little about me:My kids are grown, out of the house, and I'm looking for someone to get through my "bucket list" with. I have lots to do, see, and explore - are you in?For a more detailed description of me - I work hard and want to start playing hard too. I'm a bit of a junkie when it comes to learning about virtually anything. I've traveled quite a bit but still have many more places to explore. I continually strive to be the best person I can be, am typically self motivated but I'm looking for someone that challenges me to be a better person.I love music - all genre's. I find it interesting that virtually every man's profile on this site says they are looking for someone that is affectionate. Must be a lot of frigid women out there. Of course we are looking for someone that shows affection, otherwise I would just stay single. I don't need a guy to pay my bills (I've got that covered). Don't need any more friends really (although my ideal partner would also be my best friend). So, yes, a little affection would be nice.I love the outdoors (except when it is cold). I like dancing, bicycling, walking, hiking, playing basketball, gardening, and virtually anything else that requires me to be outdoors. I guess what may make me unique is the odd combination of being a "free spirit" yet very career focused. I'm quick to laugh but not afraid to make tough decisions. I want to experience each and every day of my life to the fullest extent possible, and to realize my full potential. I've worked very hard my entire life and spent a lot of time multi-tasking - now I want to just "be in the moment" and truly experience every thing and every person as it (or they) cross my path.I love to laugh and a great sense of humor is a must for my likely partner. Make me laugh and you are halfway there with me. Have brains, a legal source of income, no addictions, a little romance, and a sense of humor and you are pretty much golden. I try to live my life without a lot of expectations. Life is too difficult as it is without placing expectations on someone you hardly know. I'd like to meet a person that is responsible, can laugh easily, is willing to discuss "deep" topics, carry a conversation, and is ready to have fun. On a first date I would enjoy the opportunity to be someplace where we can talk and get to know each other - the zoo, a walk through the park, dinner and maybe a club where the music is nice but not so loud you can't have a conversation. Just please don't take me to a movie on a first date, please (the use of the word "please" twice was intentional).

    I grew up here and now I feel lucky to be raising my kids here.Ok, enough sentimentality. Hobbies - what are hobbies? I'm a single mother of three little kids. I don't go kayaking or antiquing in my free time. Usually I take a nap if they are all gone, or a walk, or maybe mop and wax my wood floors. If I'm really feeling wild I might take an extra long, hot, shower. Sounds boring...well quiet is wonderful and intoxicating...no, quiet with a bottle of wine is wonderful and intoxicating. I love to cook...but have very unsophisticated, extremely particular palates to please at the moment.....and yes, ketchup counts as a vegetable. I am satisfied with a steady diet of lean cuisines (I want to say "government cheese"It doesn't take a lot to make me happy. I'm down to one parent, and sadly she is battling a late stage cancer. So spending a great afternoon with her is a gift. So is a day without kids fighting. A sunny day on my tractor is a wonderful stress reliever, as is gardening, strumming out a tune on my guitar, or running in to someone at Price Chopper who knew my dad and has something funny or interesting to say about him.I can be intense but don't take much too seriously. I happen to believe the movie "; is one of the great comedic masterpieces of our time. I get chills when I hear bagpipes - definitely identify more with being Irish than my other half which is Italian. Miss going to SPAC, the horse races, skiing, the ocean, and even catching a cool movie at the Spectrum or a show at Proctors, The Egg... love going to church but hardly ever get there...always feel better as I walk out then the hour before when I walked in. Ultimately am seeking someone more like me than different. In my experience opposites attract but don't last. Someone who believes in God is important to me, although beyond that, faith is personal and I don't judge. My free time is not unlimited, and so proximity is important. Probably more that 40 minutes away will be too far. I try to take good care of myself without being self centered, so someone who also has pride in their appearance would matter to me. My lifestyle is largely based around my children and will be for several years to come, so a man who is still in this chapter will be my best fit...and am a good sport about the rest...but I believe finding the right person to be with will allow for the fun stuff that I just don't care to do by myself! And remember...winking is for wimps (oh wait, that's a different site), and I can't respond to a gray silhouette...ok I could, but I won't. First of all, its totally not fair that you have to pay...so something free is preferable, and outside is even better. A walk with coffees or some waters would be a great first date for me. There is something about talking and moving at the same time that kind of authenticates people, and that's the layer I want to see by the end of the walk. After that we should know if dinner and drinks are a good idea.

    Hi, following the script above... UNIQUE: non judgemental/ but don't choose to hang w/ everyone, I def know what I want. HOBBIES: I love fitness, reading, thrift stores ... However, would never be an asset to a softball, basketball team. I thoroughly like watching sports though. Come on! I raised two boys!! MUSIC: everything but altern rock.
