I grew up here and now I feel lucky to be raising my kids here.Ok, enough sentimentality. Hobbies - what are hobbies? I'm a single mother of three little kids. I don't go kayaking or antiquing in my free time. Usually I take a nap if they are all gone, or a walk, or maybe mop and wax my wood floors. If I'm really feeling wild I might take an extra long, hot, shower. Sounds boring...well quiet is wonderful and intoxicating...no, quiet with a bottle of wine is wonderful and intoxicating. I love to cook...but have very unsophisticated, extremely particular palates to please at the moment.....and yes, ketchup counts as a vegetable. I am satisfied with a steady diet of lean cuisines (I want to say "government cheese"It doesn't take a lot to make me happy. I'm down to one parent, and sadly she is battling a late stage cancer. So spending a great afternoon with her is a gift. So is a day without kids fighting. A sunny day on my tractor is a wonderful stress reliever, as is gardening, strumming out a tune on my guitar, or running in to someone at Price Chopper who knew my dad and has something funny or interesting to say about him.I can be intense but don't take much too seriously. I happen to believe the movie "; is one of the great comedic masterpieces of our time. I get chills when I hear bagpipes - definitely identify more with being Irish than my other half which is Italian. Miss going to SPAC, the horse races, skiing, the ocean, and even catching a cool movie at the Spectrum or a show at Proctors, The Egg... love going to church but hardly ever get there...always feel better as I walk out then the hour before when I walked in. Ultimately am seeking someone more like me than different. In my experience opposites attract but don't last. Someone who believes in God is important to me, although beyond that, faith is personal and I don't judge. My free time is not unlimited, and so proximity is important. Probably more that 40 minutes away will be too far. I try to take good care of myself without being self centered, so someone who also has pride in their appearance would matter to me. My lifestyle is largely based around my children and will be for several years to come, so a man who is still in this chapter will be my best fit...and am a good sport about the rest...but I believe finding the right person to be with will allow for the fun stuff that I just don't care to do by myself! And remember...winking is for wimps (oh wait, that's a different site), and I can't respond to a gray silhouette...ok I could, but I won't. First of all, its totally not fair that you have to pay...so something free is preferable, and outside is even better. A walk with coffees or some waters would be a great first date for me. There is something about talking and moving at the same time that kind of authenticates people, and that's the layer I want to see by the end of the walk. After that we should know if dinner and drinks are a good idea.

I'm quite a bit different from most gals-most people even. I'm an Avid gardener, outdoors woman (as in I have a serious 'relationship' with the outdoors. (( Pioneered in the BC wilds for 1 yr, built log cabin, no outside contact, -.)), smart (duo masters) , very very playful, & mostly sane! An accomplished artist, adore most kids (wish i could have had more), fun mom I'm told (by my very cool 10 yr old), traveler ***countries), 13 yrs as expat in Jpn, good dancer, democrat, am goofy often (not weird- just goofy like sing a little opera baritone when I cook Italian), bold and blunt as is needed, love good food -espec sauces and seafood, have chickens (for the glee of it - have some that lay blue eggs), bunnies, a tabby, goldfish. Just dug a swim pond on my farm. (hmm, now what..) Guess what I get to research this winter by the fire? I'm also learning golf as a meditation. Relationship wisened. I am very loyal. I am 100% committed when I do commit (I was married a lovely 13 yrs and the 2nd was a big oops of 2 yrs). Know the joy of 'service' ( yea I figured something important out!!). 2nd degree is Master of Social Work (service).-, Sail as a lifestyle: Cat, herbs, and geraniums aboard, and of course my wonderful mate... because all this is scary. (And it's so much better to be scared together. Just holding hands is soooo under-rated)...any good playoffs, any quality music - all grand! I am happy in my life (it's been a lot of dedication, work, and dug up faith***and am looking for someone who is also happy, believes in magic, what you think is what you get, good morals, practices Empathy, not lazy, brave, knows they are are going to die, accepts and is a bit gritty and a bit sweet as all possible parts of character. I've noticed that I grow by being the best wife, mother, woman (&). I am not a fixed type of person and am "mutable" by nature and love the challenges and growth (Adaptation!) of being that way. Intelligence reserves the right to change it's mind frequently. Curiosity, creativity, and a genuine sense of play are essential. Have learned life is mostly perception. I think, by nature, I am never too serious & always serious, all at once. Belly laughter and touches are the love-o-meter my home. I know I need a cheerful mate who is a good: communicator, physical lover, thinker, dreamer, self aware and a do-er. Just friendship and sharing hobby/brains/ aptitudes or that 'special ka-zingggg one' ....both scenarios are welcomed. If you have substance issues, are abusive in any way-on any level, have a temper, lazy, depressed, dull, or just want to meet me because it just might be cool to do so, well.. then please carry on without me.
