About Me

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. These things are difficult to write, so I’m going to make a list *** paragraphs. Here goes...Ten interesting, weird, quirky things about me:1.) My three kids mean to world to me. My younger two still live at home, but are moving out in January. 2.) I only eat plain M&Ms in even numbers…I don’t eat those very often though. Peanut M&Ms on the other hand…those are shoveled in with abandon!3.) I cannot be trusted around cake.4.) I love, love, LOVE rock climbing, but I took a nasty fall last June and suffered a serious concussion. It’s taken so long to heal; I had no idea. I always wear a helmet when I lead climb, but for some reason, I didn’t that day. It’s the first time I’ve taken a spill 5.) In some of my pictures I have longish hair, in some pictures, short. It is currently short. They had to shave my head in the emergency room after I fell because I had a big open wound on the back of my head. Just kidding…I did have a big open wound on the back of my head, but they left it alone. I just decided to get it cut short…not sure if I’m going to keep it short.6.) I have Christian beliefs, but I don’t believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible. I rarely with see things in black and white. I believe that limits God somewhat...I don't believe that His love and grace can be explained in simple terms; it's so much more than any of us can fathom! 7.) I have a very weird, some might say inappropriate, sense of humor. I love to take a mundane idea/thought and run with it to the point of ridiculousness.8.) I am the youngest of 7. And no, I am not a brat…regardless of what my siblings say!9.) I lost my big brother a little over a year ago; he was in a kayaking accident. It has been a nightmare, but it has made me more appreciative of every moment and every breath.10.) I value honesty and integrity and seek someone who values the same.11.) I am muscular and have an athletic build, but I am not tiny. I’m honest about how I look, I expect the same in return. I’ve dated men who are the same height as me…that's not an issue. What bothers me is when a man says he’s a certain height...say 5'10" or so, and when I meet him, he’s the same height as me. If you're less than honest about something so obvious….it could make someone wonder what else you might be less than honest about... 12.) Oops…I said 10 things…okay…just one more.13.) I am not looking for a gym rat, but I do want someone who takes care of himself….loving the outdoors is a must! What an amazingly beautiful place we live in!I look forward to hearing from you!

Woman. 47 years old. Zodiac sign: Sagittarius.

Looking for: man. In age: 44-54

I got kicked off this site about a month ago due to inactivity. Guess I better start checking in! :)I'm really just checking this out - pretty independent, and I absolutely love my life, but every once in awhile wonder why I don't try a little harder to meet new people. I'm self employed, running a non-profit which leads teams of volunteers to areas of disaster relief or to assist with ongoing humanitarian projects, domestically and abroad. I have two daughters in college, and a granddaughter who I am MADLY in love with! I love to have fun, love to eat, love to laugh, and I definitely don't take life too seriously. I rarely have a bad hour much less a bad day. I read and play tennis in my spare time, as well as watch A LOT of football during football season. Pretty much how I spend every Sunday. I've not been married for 15 years by choice. I really love my life so much that it would take an absolutely amazing situation to get me to make a change. But I do have faith in God's plan for me and my future, so I'm fine either way.My degree is in Christian Ministries and I'm a former youth minister, and then went into full time missions, however, I'm probably one of the few liberal Christians you might meet. Politics sadden me, because I don't believe Jesus sees us in terms of borders, and I don't think He would appreciate us treating each other that way. That statement is about as political as I'll ever get. I read about three books a week and love to talk about them. Also LOVE to cook, and if I do say so myself, I'm pretty darn good at it! :) I don't make a ton of money being self employed, and really don't care. It is definitely not what drives me. My three girls are my life, and I'm incredibly lucky to say that my daughters would consider me their best friend. They are by far the coolest people on the planet!

I'm looking for my best friend that is also positive, funny, adventurous, whom is spontaneous and young at heart, but most of all a gentlemen. You tell me.

Woman. 49 years old. Zodiac sign: Capricorn.

Looking for: man. In age: 46-56

One thing that's definitely true about me is that I'm pretty much crazy loyal, faithful. If I decide I'm your friend, then that's pretty much it. And if I decide that you are even more than that, well I guess that'd make you a pretty lucky man :). Because if you've had a bad day, you know I'm going to be there with an open ear, a backrub, probably a bad pun to make you smile. Or maybe I'll be there with a perspective that might challenge you into looking at something in a different way, because having your back may also mean calling you out on something some time. I am going to put in the effort, and do expect the same in return. But that, I hope, would be a natural, fun thing and not a grind or a chore, because everyone has at least one job (looking for a job is also a job), and if you're also a parent then that's a joy, but also another job. To me putting in the effort is more about being open to one another, really open even when it's hard and not some checklist of expectations we each have to look out for and check off (or not check off). Basically, when things go down, I want to know you're there for me, because I'm going to be there for you. And if it's not fun to be around one another then what's the point? Some other things that are important to me are my son (mostly a joy, only occasionally a job, other than all the food he consumes), all things artistic (theatre, visual art, absolutely music), nature (CO, what more needs to be said? that and any beach, any forest, any place where you can see the sky and feel the earth beneath your feet), kids in general (love volunteering with anything to do with kids, or just enjoy friend's or relative's children), and giving back somehow trying to make the planet a better place (it's a Ghandi thing --be the change you wish to see). Music is a big one, and my favorites are R&B, blues, some old jazz, hip hop, and yes, some rap --so if your go-to is country, you're probably going to be hating what's on my ipod and/or radio :).One thing I can't claim, I guess, is that I am a "simple person." If you want that, I'm probably not your girl, because I'm sort of full of contradictions. I'm girly (love the clothes and shoes, to cook and bake, plants, babies, kittens, puppies, the whole nine) and also a tomboy (crazy about basketball, and like several other sports, am very independent, etc.) I'm artistic and creative but also intellectual and nerdy and outdoorsy and sporty. I can be very open and out-going, and can talk to almost anybody one-on-one, but can also be shy, especially in large groups. I may be one of the sweetest people you've ever met, but I'm also sassy and definitely no push-over. I'm definitely worth it, but you may be up for a challenge :).So good luck out there with your fishing --hope you reel in the best catch for you. The best first date depends upon how the other person and I mesh, and compliment one another. Setting to me is not nearly so important as both people feeling comfortable and happy, having a chance to relax with one another and really talk. That could happen outside on the beach, seeing a play and having coffee afterward, dancing to live music, watching a live sports event...you tell me!
