I really am a "glass half-full" person. I love to run and love the outdoors. I am a very active person and exercise 6 days a week. I am very happy when I'm lifting in the gym with my trainer, riding my bike with a friend, boogie boarding with my kids, or running in the zone by myself. I have a lot of energy and take pride in taking good care of myself. My friends describe me as a warm, fun, and faithful friend. I am a giver and show how much I care for the people that I love every day. I go out of my way to help anyone.;Life is way too short to go through the motions." I completely embrace that sentiment and try live my life to the fullest. I am not interested in wasting time - mine or anyone else's. I have two amazing sons who play ice hockey (my favorite sport). I am kind of a tough mom - who tries to teach them how to fish - not do it for them - so that they become strong and self-sufficient. And, I make them work for a win in sports/board games/etc. when they play against me! It is paying off, as they have a lot of friends and are the kind of polite teenagers that parents want around their kids.I come from a big family -- and we are close. I love to cook. Cooking is cathartic and a fun social event for me. I have a great group of friends and enjoy exercising with them, dancing to a local band, or hanging out with a glass of wine when I don't have my boys. Hard rock, classic rock, blues, jazz, pop, dance, classical, reggae.... And I love to dance. I'm looking to meet someone who can keep up with me. Who knows himself and is happy with who he is. Who doesn't take himself too seriously. Someone who is around my age (under ***or younger (over 30). Who is fun, local, educated, warm, funny, intelligent, athletic, handsome, and self-sufficient. Someone who is planful. but also spontaneous. Who thrives on trying new and different experiences. A great listener with genuine empathy for others. A straight shooter. Someone who will bring out the best in me. I work hard at all relationships and know there is a give and take.     I'm always surprised at how many people think it's ok to post pics that are old or don't depict you accurately. Mine do so, I figured I would clarify that upfront. :)I've heard a lot of great things about this site so here I am... I relocated to NJ from NY about 3 years ago. It's beautiful here! I'm a great Mom and provider. I enjoy time with my son, family and close friends. There are so many different ways to have an amazing first date. I'm fine with meeting for a cup or coffee or a drink at first. This gives us both a chance to figure out if what we read and saw on this site is what we expected in person. (FYI - Honesty is important to me. If you say you are 6' tall and high on life, that shouldn't include standing on a step stool complaining about work or taking pain RX.) Ever notice that when there is chemistry, it doesn't matter what you are doing? The conversation flows... there's a lot of smiling and sharing... and neither one can wait for that first kiss! Sometimes, chemistry happens but not right away. That's great too. A fun first date, getting to know each other and then suddenly you can't wait for the 3rd or 4th date....
