I really am a "glass half-full" person. I love to run and love the outdoors. I am a very active person and exercise 6 days a week. I am very happy when I'm lifting in the gym with my trainer, riding my bike with a friend, boogie boarding with my kids, or running in the zone by myself. I have a lot of energy and take pride in taking good care of myself. My friends describe me as a warm, fun, and faithful friend. I am a giver and show how much I care for the people that I love every day. I go out of my way to help anyone.;Life is way too short to go through the motions." I completely embrace that sentiment and try live my life to the fullest. I am not interested in wasting time - mine or anyone else's. I have two amazing sons who play ice hockey (my favorite sport). I am kind of a tough mom - who tries to teach them how to fish - not do it for them - so that they become strong and self-sufficient. And, I make them work for a win in sports/board games/etc. when they play against me! It is paying off, as they have a lot of friends and are the kind of polite teenagers that parents want around their kids.I come from a big family -- and we are close. I love to cook. Cooking is cathartic and a fun social event for me. I have a great group of friends and enjoy exercising with them, dancing to a local band, or hanging out with a glass of wine when I don't have my boys. Hard rock, classic rock, blues, jazz, pop, dance, classical, reggae.... And I love to dance. I'm looking to meet someone who can keep up with me. Who knows himself and is happy with who he is. Who doesn't take himself too seriously. Someone who is around my age (under ***or younger (over 30). Who is fun, local, educated, warm, funny, intelligent, athletic, handsome, and self-sufficient. Someone who is planful. but also spontaneous. Who thrives on trying new and different experiences. A great listener with genuine empathy for others. A straight shooter. Someone who will bring out the best in me. I work hard at all relationships and know there is a give and take. My profile may come across as very "Type A', but in actuality, I am a very laid back person and just trying to find balance between fun, serious, active, and relaxed in this great world of ours! I believe in doing things side by side with my man, but not everything has to be done together. I love spending my time dancing, being with friends, and doing sports. With dancing, it's salsa or swing dancing or 80's dancing. I have no pride and love to dance (my man doesn't have to dance). I am a sports freak. Mostly doing them (equestrian. triathlons, cycling, scuba, mountaineering, kayaking). Although, I also can be a couch potato. I love watching soccer, football and baseball. I'm so psyched as have finally recovered from dual shoulder injuries and I am now free after 2 years of "taking it easy"....it was a bummer! I am no "fluff chick" who expects her man to wait on her. In fact, I prefer to do things myself...that great feeling of accomplishing a goal. I've included all types of pics as my body type is somewhere in between Athletic/few extra pounds. I have broad shoulders, a ton of muscle mass, and just enough extra skin to make my girly parts "more fun". Pics included hiking at Blackcomb Glacier to go skiing out of bounds, and beach shot from 09, Halloween 09 as Xena Warrior Princess, and my self portrait with the SouthPark boys (I use to work there for 3 seasons)...I have sometimes very liberal humor on account of being on the payroll so long :P (at least, that's my excuse ;) I have lived all over North America, and I have met so many great people along the way. The warmth and trust that people have shown me has been overwhelming. It has shown me that working for relationships, being honest, and the respect that we show each other is the most important thing in the world. It always comes back "at us" what we put "out there"..and I have been so lucky to have met my friends (really, my extended family). My friends ARE part of my family. They validate who I am.
