basically i'm a 41 yr old mom with a 4 yr old daughter who is my world. i'm not looking for a dad for her, she has one. i'm looking for someone for me. remember the days when you were in your 20s and you just stated dating someone without knowing where it was going? if it lead somewhere awesome, and if it didn't, who cared, you had a life lesson. that's basically what i am doing here. would i like to meet my soul mate, of course. but do i think i'm going to meet him tomorrow...no. i'm realistic, very easy going, and laid back. i love to laugh and have a good time. even though i am 41 i neither look nor act like it, but i do know how to be serious when i need to be. i'm looking for a honest, easy going, positive (do not like negativity), caring, open, good at communication, attractive, basically an all around good guy. i know i am what is considered a bbw, and i am not that way because of not taking care of myself. i actually got cancer in my thyroid several years ago and had to have it removed, when that happened i ballooned up. it really sucked, but i don't care. i still look at myself as a sexy, beautiful, caring, having lots to give a man. i am an awesome girlfriend, i do lots of little things for the one i'm with just to let them know i care. actions speak louder than words i always say. A first date could be anything from dinner/drinks to movies to shooting pool and beer. I can have fun doing anything as long as the person I am with is fun. Please do remember I have a child and can not just set up a date last minute unless you want me to bring her along...lol.     I'm always surprised at how many people think it's ok to post pics that are old or don't depict you accurately. Mine do so, I figured I would clarify that upfront. :)I've heard a lot of great things about this site so here I am... I relocated to NJ from NY about 3 years ago. It's beautiful here! I'm a great Mom and provider. I enjoy time with my son, family and close friends. I appreciate good things (like fresh herbs in my salad or HDTV) but I'm not 'materialistic' and don't shop just for the sake of shopping. I live a healthy, active life. I play softball as much as I can. I golf (really for work and not often -so,I must admit, scrambles are my preference! I can drive the ball a mile but my pitching and putting lack the right 'touch'.)I am a joyful, confident person who appreciates the little things. I like to spend time on my home - whether it's decorating, fixing something or planning the next project. I have a great job and work with wonderful people. Like any career, it can be demanding at times but on the other hand, I have more balance in my life than I have had in the past; which allows me to spend quality time with my son (and significant other).I come from a traditional Italian family. I may be an independent and self-sufficient woman but I'm also old fashioned. I appreciate chivalry and a strong man.When I first meet someone new, I like to get to know the person. Dating is important to really get to know each other. A great kiss is a good way to end a night if it feels right. Once I'm in a relationship, I'm extremely affectionate, caring and attentive but I am admittedly conservative with my time and feelings until I know you and where it's going... There are so many different ways to have an amazing first date. I'm fine with meeting for a cup or coffee or a drink at first. This gives us both a chance to figure out if what we read and saw on this site is what we expected in person. (FYI - Honesty is important to me. If you say you are 6' tall and high on life, that shouldn't include standing on a step stool complaining about work or taking pain RX.) Ever notice that when there is chemistry, it doesn't matter what you are doing? The conversation flows... there's a lot of smiling and sharing... and neither one can wait for that first kiss! Sometimes, chemistry happens but not right away. That's great too. A fun first date, getting to know each other and then suddenly you can't wait for the 3rd or 4th date....

    How hard can this be? For me, it comes down to simple basics--the things we learned when we were young: be honest, be reliable, trustworthy, a good listener, cherish and love your family and friends, remember we are all different, but different is not "bad," never judge anyone--we all have opinions and in this country we have the liberty of "freedom of speech," however, sometimes it's best to keep our thoughts to ourselves. Never hurt with intent, never spread rumors--if that's how you play, get out of the sandbox. Always be a lady. Always be respectful of those younger and older. Common interests can be helpful; however, learning new things is always exciting and sometimes more rewarding when you share the experience with someone.Top of the list: laughter is a must!
