I’m a curious person who loves to learn, has lots of interests, and cares about the world around me. Would like to meet someone similar…If you think we might have some things in common, I’d like to hear from you. How do I spend my time? Work-wise, these days I spend it writing and editing somewhat dry, technical material. In my off-hours, I try to fit in as many fun, useful, and interesting pursuits as I can without exhausting myself, and I do enjoy spending time on my own as well. One of my current favourite things is learning West Coast swing dancing. I have a plot in a community garden and enjoy puttering around there. I did some volunteer board work for a small nonprofit last year. I'm starting a part-time masters program in the fall and getting myself ready for that new phase of my life - am excited about that. I also enjoy going to documentaries and lectures on current events and social and urban topics, as well as just eating and drinking with friends. I like walking and exploring, and would enjoy having someone to go on easy to moderate hikes with. I run, somewhat sporadically. What I’m attracted to and looking forIntelligence, humour, decency, and creativity are some of the characteristics I find most attractive. For a long-term relationship, shared values are a must. I’d like to meet someone who I can plot and plan and go on adventures with, and someone to eventually build and share a home with too.I’m often attracted to people who have stepped off conventional paths, as I feel I’ve done that myself – if we decide to meet, you can ask me about my goat-milking days. ;)I would really like to be in a committed long-term relationship again, but realize there’s no forcing that and no magic wands. Making new friends and having some adventures along the way would be great too, as would meeting some new dance partners. In looking for potential long-term partners, I’m interested in meeting others who feel like they’ve learned a few things from their previous relationships about themselves and about what it takes to make relationships work and last.–; SpearheadThe Head and the HeartBlue RodeoBilly Bragg &-limited is a good way to take the pressure off for a first meeting. Ideas for an actual date will probably be clearer after that, assuming we’re both interested.

I'm old-fashioned. I'm used to guys asking the girls out. Not that I've never done the reverse...just more comfortable like that. I'm just looking for a guy to hang out with and have some fun with (same as everyone else). Stimulating conversations. Laughter is important, so we have to have the same sense of humour and of course there does have to be some kind of spark to take it beyond friends, but making more friends is never a bad thing, so let's meet and see what happens! I have a bit of a zoo. I have 2 dogs (the Border Collie and the Chihuahua/Yorkie) &..so an animal lover is a REAL bonus. Lol! I enjoy running or walking with the dogs every day, hanging with friends, a good glass of wine, or a beer. I like cooking and dinner parties in or out in a restaurant. I think everyone enjoys movies and listening to music. I like all music, but classic rock is probably my favourite. Not a big country fan. I like painting and photography, and would like to do more travelling (did quite a bit when I was younger). Not looking to *** someone forever...aren't these sites to MEET people? Hoping to find someone with a few similar interests. Also, FYI, I rarely check that favourites thing, so if that is your way of showing me you're interested you probably won't hear back from me. I like to keep first meetings quite short and sweet...they are basically blind dates off of the web after all. A drink or two to see if we click, see if we have anything in common, and then take it from there A first "real" date...hmmmm...up for anything...but a date means to "go out". A movie on your couch or a soak in your hot tub is not my idea of a first date. Lol!
